We had the good fortune of connecting with Deonte Clyburn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deonte, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
The answer is to always keep going first and foremost.

But In life i feel as if we’re always given two choices. To quit or to keep going, in whatever you’re doing as person there will be challenges, there will always be failure but those who persevere tend to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Have the want to and the grit to be that person, it may be hard but what’s life without a little bit of struggle. Always remember to keep pushing and punching, that next punch may be a knockout in your favor.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the owner of “A Pro At Life” Podcast. I also am a certified personal trainer but the bulk of my days center around Team Management Trucking logistics in which i am the owner/operator for as well. We specialize in freight hauling services, dispatch services as well as freight brokering.

The business idea came from my mother who is also a well respected business owner in the city of Louisville, Ky. Owning many daycares and a consulting agency. She is the epitome of what i want to be in this business world.

I am most proud of my team so far, but what i can say i’ve learned is that anything you want to be successful at you can do alone but greatness comes from multiple parties. Nothing in the trucking industry is easy so everyday we are learning new knacks to be the best in the business. In the end i want the world to know i am a black business owner who is serious about his craft and the people around him.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you were visiting Louisville, Ky i would first take you to “Indi’s” right off the plane. It’s the most famous chicken spot in Kentucky, not (KFC). After you’ve enjoyed the chicken we would go downtown to the Nulu/waterfront area, it is apart of town that has been renovated as of late but because so it is beautiful. Down here you have bourbon distilleries, stores & boutiques, countless amount of restaurants, the YUM center, and even the Muhammad Ali center if your a visitor for a few days.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout is dedicated to my daughter. She is the driving force to my spirit, there’s no mountain too high nor valley too low that i can’t conquer with her support.
The doubt that creeps in at times never stays too long because in her eyes, i’m the answer to everything. That belief in me alone is transferred into everything I involve myself in, as a 2 yr old she has no clue of course but as time continues hopefully she will know how much she means to me and how important she is to our success.
