We had the good fortune of connecting with DENA WILLIAMS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DENA, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be remembered as a beautiful soul who impacted lives with my life experiences and creativity. A woman of faith – through my pain and personal struggles, with God’s strength I was able to get through anything. A relentless hardworking creative who never gave up on her dreams.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a graphic designer and a makeup artist. What sets me apart from others is I build relationships with my clients, I educate whether I am giving a service for a makeover or creating a design. I am most proud of how much I accomplished during my hardships.

I got to where I am today, “PRAYER” and continuously working on my craft. Surrounding myself with like minded people where we can pour into each other.

No it wasn’t easy. I persevered and never gave up.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way; with time you will grow, continue to educate yourself on your craft, get a mentor that knows your industry, give yourself grace. If you are building a business that serves a purpose and is a solution to a problem you can’t rush the success of it.

I want the world to know that I can bring your brand idea to life and highlight your greatest features with my innovative makeup line and easy makeup techniques.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them on a trip to Treat your Feet spa, Brunch at Ms. Icey’s (good food, nice vibes and good music). Im not a club girl so anything I do will have some type of art in it. 🙂 Painted Pin for activity of fun, We have to visit Poor Calvins for dinner, take a walk over to the belt line (love to see art and nature if it isn’t too hot out). Candle making at Bear and honey. Although, I never ate at Bar Vegan I heard it was good. So, a trip to Ponce City Market here we come. Fellowship would be a girls night out – nice place to visit – good food, good drinks, good vibes. Rocksteady would be another foodie place. 🙂 We don’t have to be out everyday but these are a few places that I would take her to visit.

It’s the good food, good vibes, good drinks for me! 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a handful of people who have been an advocate, mentor, support in my life during my process of success. Im sending a shout out to all my family, close friends you know who you are for your continuous support, encouragement, prayers and love. Thank you, Thank you for believing in my dreams. Much Love! 🙂
