Meet De’na Marie | Owner of Eye Of De Goddess, Licensed Cosmetologist, & Certified Makeup Artist

Hi De’na, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my business as a safe haven for myself but as I continued my journey I started to noticed more people also needed a safe haven, an experience where they can talk like we are in a therapy session, a peaceful environment to be pampered in, and just the feeling of pure relaxation where all our problems float away. Growing up, I had low self esteem and was not a social butterfly, creating Eye Of De Goddess LLC. helped me leave the cocoon and flourish. I created the brand to make sure other Goddesses & Gods around the world feel special, loved, confident, and aspire to inspire others around them. It’s the stories told by the individuals I’ve met that keeps me going, just knowing that I can also change their way of thinking about themselves while enhancing their inner Goddess.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My artistry is a way of expression, that includes my expertise and my clients vision. When my client has a vision, whether it is multiple visions from different inspirations, I am able to paint the bigger grand picture for them. The look comes all together like I photoshopped it on to their face directly. It’s like a super Goddess Power. It took a lot of hard work and dedication to get to where I am now, I had to take a huge risk of leaving the corporate realm of the beauty industry to actually focus on what I wanted for my actual business. It was very hard being that I am a Type 1 Diabetic, I solely depended on other jobs to help fund my medical expenses, but little did I know it forced me to fall out of love with my passion. It was not until Sept. 2024, that I was able to stand beside my decision and my business started to flourish even more. Lesson Learned, if you do not leave willingly the lord will find a way to force you out! & that he did. My clientele supported me even more once I took that leap of faith! Eye Of De Goddess LLC. Is a brand that embraces everyone, we are here as a listening ear, as a pamper team to enhance your inner goddess & as a community that will push you towards your greater purpose! As we Aspire to Inspire!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is like the city that never sleeps, it’s always an event going on Monday – Sunday! Can’t top my hometown New Orleans but it does its big one when it wants to! I’m a foodie girl, when it comes to a meet up, best believe food, drinks & Hookah got to be involved! Elite Lounge, Cru, Mobay Spice House, Flying Biscuit, D’juan’s Bistro, Mics Karaoke, Chef Rob’s Cafe & Bar, Fat Tuesdays, Quality Seafood are all places I love to frequent! Being on TikTok, the list can get longer lol. Atlanta has nice historical places to visit as well, museums to experience and some times them museums throw a party or two. Especially High Museum 1st Friday of the month! Like I mentioned, Atlanta will always have something planned for every day of the week and in all parts of the city, just pick an area, you’ll have a good time!

I would like to dedicate this opportunity to my continuous support team & Goddess Clientele! I’ve been pushing and marketing my business since 2016, it’s honestly an honor how far I’ve came and I believe it would have not been achievable without the constant booking & word of mouth I’ve received from my clients. My support team who always share and spread the knowledge of my services, I may not be booked and busy yet but the repeat clientele I receive shows that my time is near.
