We had the good fortune of connecting with Demecos Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Demecos, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
One piece of conventional advice that I strongly disagree with is the notion that you need to be already accomplished in a specific field to start a business. This belief can deter many aspiring entrepreneurs from pursuing their dreams and sharing valuable innovations.

When I founded my tech training business, BCloud Engineers, I hadn’t yet secured my first job as a cloud engineer. My journey through various roles—my first cloud engineer job, my subsequent six-figure position, and finally an international role in Germany—added credibility to my business. However, the core of its success lies in the authenticity of its origins. I started BCloud Engineers out of a genuine desire to educate and uplift individuals who, like me at the time, were outside the traditional tech education pathways. It wasn’t about being an established expert; it was about recognizing a gap in the market and addressing it passionately. This approach not only democratizes access to tech careers but also emphasizes that true entrepreneurial spirit is about pioneering, not just following established paths.

What should our readers know about your business?
My journey in the tech world can be seen as both inspiring and unconventional. Starting with just a GED for formal education and a series of personal and professional setbacks—including losing my home and working as a bouncer—my path has been anything but easy. Yet, these challenges did not define me. Instead, they fueled my determination to succeed in the cloud technology field. Armed with a cloud certification and sheer perseverance, I managed to transform my life in just two years, landing a role as a six-figure earning cloud architect for the federal government, currently working on a $3 billion cloud migration contract.

What sets my business, BCloud Engineers, apart is not just the training we offer but the ethos behind it. We focus on making cloud engineering accessible to everyone, especially those who may not have a traditional tech background. This mission is driven by my own experiences—knowing first-hand the barriers that can prevent talented individuals from breaking into tech. I’m most proud of how we’ve managed to turn personal adversity into a platform that uplifts others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, me knowing my brothers like to teeter between the lines of formal and both dark side, adventurous. I will start off by suggesting a brunch spot in Atlanta called the breakfast boys on the south side of town. Then suggest them to walk it off by visiting Ponce city market, where they can grab a snack and drink along the way of seeing a lot of Atlanta’s spectacular diversity Or hit Pullman’s yards for their Saturday food truck event that gives them more of a cultural experience of what the city has to offer. Have them head over to Cam Newton spot Fellaship for cigars or Cigar Highlands. Grab some good ole fried chicken from Delilahs or spicy authentic Italian from Dirty Rascal. Then end the night at Pinups or Blue Flame of course to support the black women in business.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Too many people to name but it starts with my wife Sherica Chambers of Interior Design by SNS who I consult with on all my business moves and is a huge contributor to finalized decisions within the company.

My BCloud Team of Mentors at our bootcamp: Jennifer Smith our Senior Security Architect and Tiffany Hall our Career Resume Architect
