We had the good fortune of connecting with DeAreya Porter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeAreya, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Fashion is the number one openly expressive type of creativity. There are no restrictions to fashion because clothes, shoes, and accessories are everywhere around us! With having so many resources I grew an adoration to the fashion world. I get a heightened sense just from being able to wear what I want. Everyday when getting dressed I have realized that what I choose to wear is not just random, it is also able to alter my emotions. That has showed me the power that fashion actually holds. Fashion allows for authenticity and full control. I always live by the phrase “when you look good, you feel good,” and it is so true. Whether I wake up and choose to put together a chill look or some of my best pieces I always find joy in getting dressed. Which led me to create my business Rich Girl Dialect, what I like to call a fashion world. I promote my business as having no limits such as I described creativity. People will see Rich Girl Dialect and notice how freely I establish everything that goes into my business. All results of Rich Girl Dialect comes from my creative space, being a model of my imagination and what I know is hot in fashion. Rich Girl Dialect will always epitomize the conversation of a free abundant lifestyle.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Rich Girl Dialect will resemble no other business. I strive to have my business stand out. The most exciting thing about starting my business is to see people fall in love with the things that I create. I always find myself working with the least trendy styles and making them into the trend. I just recently launched my brand this year so I will say that I am in the slow start up phase, but every time I think of a new idea I gain more confidence for Rich Girl Dialect. With living in such a fast pace world I find that I need to always be one step ahead to keep up. Watching some of my favorite businesses on social media and mirroring the way that they carry their businesses has been so helpful to me. I have learned that social media has the biggest impact but also can be a major distraction. However for my business page I only share the real. When people search Rich Girl Dialect they will see true authenticity. I will show the process and the finished product. I want people to know that I, DeAreya Porter work hard for anything that I release as Rich Girl Dialect.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The whole city of Atlanta is a vibe. You will find different fun experiences in any part of the city. I would say that brunch is top tier here in Atlanta. Some of my favorite brunch restaurants are Cultivated Food and Coffee, Maple Street Biscuit Company, Rosie’s Cafe, The BQE Restaurant Lounge. The ambiance is amazing and the food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. Personally I love a good shopping trip. One of my top places to walk around and pick up stuff is Atlantic Station. There is everyday shopping stores, clothing stores, amazing food restaurants, and little sweet and dessert shops. They have everything in Atlantic Station. Including one of my favorite restaurants, Yard House. I’m always up for good food, drinks, and music, and what better place to go than Atlanta’s best lounges. When I feel like getting cute and having a good time I always go to Harald’s Chicken and Ice Bar, Lily’s, Smoke House, Cirque Daiquiri and Lounge, and Atlantis. Those spots are always a vibe. I am also always down for a photo opt., Atlanta Beltline has the most perfect scenery. Well the whole Ponce area is the best for taking photos, especially on a beautiful sunny day. There are an endless amount of things to do here in Atlanta. It is one of the funnest cities.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I would like to give thanks to my parents Carla and Darral Porter for raising such strong minded and hardworking women. They pushed me to believe that by just being myself I can have anything I want. Which later in life has made me create Rich Girl Dialect. Also, I can not give enough recognition to all the fashion businesses that have came before me and that are to come after me. All fashion designers from Vintage to Haute Couture keep me striving. There is also one more person who showed me that I will find a great love in building my own business. That is my older sister Jasmine Mckelvey. Thank you sister for helping me through the process in creating Rich Girl Dialect.
