We had the good fortune of connecting with Dear Kiwanna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dear, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to create a needed space for those who viewed life differently. For those who needed to calm themselves on a spiritual level as well as in reality. My biggest read is energy. Most people grow with the gift of empathetic feelings and some have to clear the frequencies of their thoughts to reach that point. Anyone can do it but not everyone is willing. My goal is to show case my journey, The many things I went through, go through, and get through, so those who are watching and reading will know their not alone in their journey. Sometimes meditating don’t help, well maybe crystal healing jewelry and a cleansing bath will. It’s all about what works for you, and my process deals with exploring your shadow self as well as your light.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I make crystal healing jewelry and natural based hair and skin products. I also read tarot cards and study astrology. I would say my authenticity sets me aside from a lot. Not to take away from anyone who’s doing some of the things I do; everyone’s journey is different but having a good heart and a strong backbone plays a big part in the steps you take. I believe I’ve gotten this far in my journey by faith and focus. We’re all human so we have to take it easy on ourselves. Some days are hander than others but the show must go on. My biggest lesson was accepting the flow of life. As many times as we feel we have complete control over something is as much as we don’t “as above, so below”. My brand is an reflection of me. What I write and create comes to life in its own way, I wanted the world to experience the magic with me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First I’d make sure we started our days with Bruch! I’m a big fan of eating breakfast during lunch hours. There are some great black owned brunch spots in the city! I’d make sure we checked out “Atlanta Breakfast Club” and “Sweet Auburn Seafood”. Depending if she feels like a shopping or looking, I’d take her to some nice shopping outlets, Atlanta malls can be too much sometimes. Or if best friend feels like looking, we’d do something like a museum or the aquarium. For dinner and drinks we’d hit Edgewood or Peter St.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m inspired by almost any and everything. I pay close attention to the signs and details of each situation or circumstance. I’m not sure when I gravitated towards Tarot Cards & Astrology, I was extremely young, maybe in the 5th grade. My mother wouldn’t let me explore what she didn’t yet understand. As I got older I started to see a lot of things I was interested in on the internet, so I started exploring and learning, There are many different tarot readers and astrologers on Instagram and YouTube who inspired me. Not all are as legit as they seem but once I got the feel for it I knew it was “my thing”. I’d like to thank those who inspired me to walk my path with hopes to inspire others as well.
