We had the good fortune of connecting with DeAnthony Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DeAnthony, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Lithonia, Georgia. I grew up in a very religious household. God was and still is the number 1 priority. We stayed at church. School events, friends, homework, even sleep had to wait until we were back home. And today I grateful for it. That experience as a kid taught me so many valuable things. It taught me to feed what’s important, and let the rest of it fall in line. It taught me how to be kind and gentle in all relationships. It taught me to go above and beyond the standard set before me. These are all things I’ve adopted and put into my life as an adult. I use these practices in my business, and on the jobs I’ve had. And for this reason, I’ve been blessed beyond measure.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
DreamSweet is essentially that homemade cake that your mom, aunt, grandmother, church member etc. would make, but with a twist. These recipes are what I grew up on but I always strive to take them to the next level. From secret ingredients to jaw dropping designs, there’s always a special element to my desserts. This has really set me apart from so many. Everyone knows someone who can bake and I’ve been able to have some pretty loyal customers. More than having great desserts, is providing exceptional, consistent service. I do all to really create an amazing experience for each customer. This has really been the biggest help to me. It’s not always easy but 100% essential to building a loyal client base. There have been times orders have come out wrong or I haven’t been able to complete an order, but I treat those circumstances the way I’d want someone to treat me. At the end of the day, Great product and wonderful service are the two most important qualities we can possess in this business.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my Shoutout to my family. I never thought I’d be selling desserts or that I was even good enough. But they were the ones who saw the gift and pushed me to it. I am eternally grateful for it. I can only go up from here.
