We had the good fortune of connecting with DeAngelo Xavier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DeAngelo, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
With the career path I’m pursuing, you would think that I’m mainly in it for the fame and publicity, but in reality I’m just trying to make good use of my natural talents. I could care less about the fame aspect of being an artist. I honestly only care about making a living off of the my creativity and my art. Being able to provide for my family through music.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My biggest flex is that I’ve always been myself behind my music. I’ve developed a ritual when it comes down to writing and curating music. I’m very OCD when it comes to delivery and the clarity of my sound. With that being said, I’ve had to learn all of these things on my own by failing. Creating a song then hating it and then recreating it over and over again. This helped me figure out how to write better and also helped me figure out what I wanted to present to the world.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If it’s a Freddy’s burger spot in that area, that’s where I’m going hands down. Their smash burgers be on point. I’m not a picky eater though so honestly it wouldn’t matter to me.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest shout out goes to my engineer, Bless Tha Genius. He’s been behind my music creation for a while now. I would also like to recognize my producers, HNIC & Bonafide Beatz.
