We had the good fortune of connecting with Dean J. Fusto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dean J., we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal is also the goal that launched my career. I want to know every single day that I have completed my work having helped others. I am so fortunate to have grown up in a family business and being able to see how my parents were driven by lives of purpose. Professionally, I hope that I can evolve more in my altruistic and philanthropic pursuits…especially helping small schools and leaders to thrive and fulfill their missions.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I founded www.teachlearnlead.net in 2014 as a small site dedicate to educators and leaders throughout the globe. The goal was to provide non-monetized resources and collections to anyone via the web. The brand grew exponentially over time and now is one of the largest and most comprehensive niche libraries online. I have always been motivated by bringing vision to life despite the challenges or obstacles. I have learned that mental models and affirmations are like vitamins that our body and mind need daily while self-confidence, focus, and resilience are core muscles to be developed daily.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am currently living in Manhattan and that list is endless. During my many years in Atlanta, I loved taking friends to the Belt Line and to some of Atlanta’s amazing Food Halls like The Ponce City Market. I also enjoyed small town strolls with bustling main streets like in Roswell or Marietta Square.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents instilled a work ethic in me that has served me so well throughout my life and career. They were true social entrepreneurs before the concept even existed and became a part of the cultural lexicon. They believed in me, supported my dreams, and always showed genuine love for my own journey.
