We had the good fortune of connecting with Dazia Rice and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dazia, how do you think about risk?
When I think about risk, the first thing that comes to mind is that there is something God needs me to do in order for me to get to my next level and I believe in order for that to happen God places risks to see if we really want what we’re asking him for. Are we committed. Are we ready to make those necessary sacrifices. And if we are, we move on to where we want to be. We keep evolving. I took my first risk back in 2017 when I decided to spend my entire paycheck on real estate school. At that moment is when I realized not only did just spend my entire paycheck, But I was ready to risk it all for a future even I couldn’t see.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my company Rice Consulting Co back in August of 2018, in my parents living-room. I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that I wanted to have my own business. Rice Consulting Co is a Consulting Company that specializes in Small Business start ups, credit repair, small business taxes, real estate and website design. What sets us apart from others is that we focus solely on being the one stop shop for individuals looking to make that transition from their careers to full time entrepreneurs. We have the tools, resources and recommendations to help every client succeed. One thing that I like about my company is we don’t focus on one particular industry when dealing with clients. We help everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to start a hair salon or barbershop. We can help you make it happen. No idea is too big or too small.

We all can vouch at the fact that entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone. It’s not easy. There were plenty of times where I wanted to give up. Many sleepless nights. Lots of every mornings. The constant life of a business owner. But I soon learned that I had to stop worrying and trust God in the process.

When my time is up on earth I want the world to know that I created Rice Consulting Co. for black people to make their dreams of having their own business come true and to finally own something that would create generational wealth not only for them but for their families.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If we’re in Greenville, South Carolina I would first take them to my favorite restaurant Cheddars. Then later that night we would top it off with ChopHouse’47. Then of course we would visit Rice Consulting Co. to let the people know they were there with our sign. If we’re in Atlanta, we just spend an entire day browsing the city. We’d of course have to check out slutty vegan, Big Dave’s cheesesteaks and one of my favorites shake shack.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First things first. I always have to give recognition to the woman who first inspired. Lauren Lyrics. She’s a REALTOR in Michigan. Then there’s Atlanta’s Top Real Estate Broker Quiana Watson. She’s just marvelous all across the board. I actually learned how to market and run my business because of her. Then we have Pinky Cole, The owner of the famous Slutty Vegan in Atlanta. She’s a genius and last but not least Ryan Serhant of SERHANT. To add, I’ve recently been inspired by the ladies of the new show on Netflix “Selling Tampa.”
