We had the good fortune of connecting with Dayana Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dayana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My exact thought process was doing it at first. Then there were many times I had many doubts, including, what if I fail? But I always had that one incident when I was a child that kept me going. I believed in myself, went for it, and never looked back.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
WallsPop Group is a Strategic communication agency specializing in Lifestyle Brand Activation, Social Media Management, Brand Management, and Event Production. Our think-outside-the-box creative team sets us apart; we don’t go by the PR and Marketing book, lol.

I’m very proud of my team and what we have accomplished. My motto is clients want results; give them what they want and more! One reason our Agency is growing successfully and able to retain happy clients. When working, I put myself as a client, what I would want, and what team I’d like in my court – then we plan and execute. I don’t work a nine-to-five, and I don’t sleep. It is all about the Agency, the clients, and my team. Of course, my family! I want us all to SUCCEED.

I’ll never forget when my old boss told me I was a great salesperson; I used that to my advantage and implemented that talent into my Agency—selling the clients.

My biggest lessons learned are a NO is an excellent YES coming. Please don’t beat yourself up by saying I wanted this client or project, and I look at the situation like the client wouldn’t be great. Not all money is good money.

I started the agency ten years ago while working a full-time job, then slowly worked my way out from full-time to part, then I just jumped! I QUIT! That was the best decision ever. Don’t ever give up on your dreams, whatever that may be, listen to your gut; the gut is always right. Plan it. Study it, work it, and hit the break.

My next Chapter is a podcast/radio show, “The Day Brown Show” – I’m a people person who likes to talk. LOL, starting the show is only fitting. My zone, if you know me!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, I’ll take her hiking; there’s nothing better than a great outdoor activity. Regarding eating and drinking, the Great Castle in Midtown, Divan Restaurant for the best Persian and Mediterranean cuisine, rooftop view, and phenomenal ambiance.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my second-grade teacher Madame Paison who always believe in my creativity.
