We had the good fortune of connecting with David Haynes II and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by a fear of dying without leaving an indelible mark in this world to let people know I was here. It’s a tragedy to come to the end of your life and then realize you have not lived fully and marked the world with something to let it know you were here.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart. David D. Haynes II is a entrepreneur, director, cinematographer, editor and writer. It is the last thing “writer” that many people don’t know me as and it is this very thing that sets my business apart. I have written and published over 20 books and because I am a storyteller this translates into every facet of the creative portion of my business. Whether I am being a cinematographer, director, editor, I am always finding a way to tell a story or to make a story better.

The thing that I am most proud of is that I am doing what I love to do and that I control my destiny. I don’t live for a weekend I live for a living.

There was no easy road to getting where I am now professionally. I was working for a company for years and they decided that they were going to terminate my position. I was already running my own business, REEL DEAL STUDIO on the side so I was not devastated or even worried. But it was then I decided to invest in myself and my dream fulltime.

The lesson I learned from this was: To NEVER let ANYONE TO EVER have the power over you to be able to control your time and money. The most valuable thing that we have is TIME and if you can control your time you can control how much money you can make.

The thing that I would want the world to know about me and my brand is that we go above and beyond to complement our clients brand.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Anyone who knows me knows I am a workaholic in every sense of the word. The only time you will catch me relaxing is when I take a vacation; and in order to take a vacation I have to literally leave the country. That is the only time where I will not pick up a camera, script, or even think about work.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost God, without HIM, I couldn’t do this.
