Meet David Esco” Escobar | Engineer / Producer”

We had the good fortune of connecting with David “Esco” Escobar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In the music business you sometimes find yourself in a position where you have to take a leap of faith or quit. I’ve never quitted something I wasn’t done with. After several years of running a studio business I was able to feel confident I could manage on my own. If you can do it for someone else you can do it for yourself. The best part is you’ll be happy doing it. Starting my own business has several challenges but they’re better than the challenge of working for someone else. As a first generation latino I hope I can inspire many more like myself to do the same and take control of their careers. Your success is in your hands.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Escobar Records
Escobar Records is dedicated to finding your identity and serving the underdog artist with high quality sound at the most competitive rate. Finding identity includes producing the music and orchestrating composition in order to allow the artist to shine.
Atlanta doesn’t have a Latin company that can provide award winning quality and that sets Escobar Records apart. After working 6+ years in Atlanta’s Hip-Hop and R&B scene I was able to collect knowledge, skills, and network that better serve the infant Latin music industry of Atlanta. Along the way I’ve learned latinos around the city struggle to find someone who speaks their language and identifies with their struggles. Luckily I’m here to stay.
From the writing stage to the release stage, Escobar Records is available for the people by one of their own.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Walking and Food are the best options. The city has anything and everything we could possibly want. The Belt Line is first along with some Jenni’s Ice Cream. Antico’s Pizza is a personal favorite. Ponce city market is sweet time, painted duck has the vibes, and Fox Bro’s is a MUST.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to every artist who has trusted me with their voice and especially their art. In addition this shout out is dedicated to my peers en La Sociedad Secreta.
