We had the good fortune of connecting with Daryle Good and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daryle, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It always felt like what I was supposed to do. I remember being in college, walking home from the gym one night, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. It was deafening how loud I heard that I was going to make music. Maybe it was out of the blue; maybe it was divine intervention, but I knew from that moment that I wanted to make music, and that’s what I was called to do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
So there’s a conversation surrounding hip hop and rap music today; everyone sounds the same and has no originality. That goes from production to voice, to flow, and everything around it. I truly believe that I have my own sound and I sound like no one else. I take pride in that and I’m going to continue to keep pressing forward with attitude and mentality. That’s how you become great in this game.

I’m most excited currently about my debut EP that is coming on April 16th called Life As of Now. It’s a six-track EP and I love it, especially for a debut. A lot of work went into it and I can’t wait to share with the world what we created.

You know I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface of where I’m going to end up. I haven’t made it far but I have so much further to go. I’m blessed to have gained the knowledge that I have and be able to apply it where I need to get to where I want to go.

Haha, I guess I’ll be cliche in my answer and say I want the world to know that this is just the beginning. If you aren’t on the Daryle Good train it’s all good. I hope you’ll have the chance to catch up.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Dallas is an interesting city and there’s so much to do. First things first we’re going to try our best to avoid Deep Ellum when the sun goes down. Very rarely are we popping out there because it can be a lot at times lol. But there’s a lot to do we could hit Uptown, Victory Park and catch a Mavs game, we can hit Oak Lawn for some good dinner, or we can hit Bishop Arts District there’s a lot you can do. It just depends on your cup of tea. If you want a real adrenaline rush hit Deep Ellum on a Saturday night starting at 11 pm. You’ll have some war stories under your belt.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh yeah, for sure! My family—point blank, period. They are my support system; they give me all the confidence in the world to go out and do what I do. When I say ‘my family,’ I don’t just mean my blood; I also mean the family I’ve made along the way. They are a huge help, and I love them with all my heart, and I don’t know what I’d do without them. Oh and also 1st Fruits Music of courseeee.
