We had the good fortune of connecting with Darnell and Myles Logan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Darnell and Myles, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My wife has an obsession for creativity. During the spike of the pandemic in 2021, while scrolling through Instagram a bar ad popped up. My wife shared the reel with me and stated “we could definitely do this.” Her initial thought was to use the trailer as a mobile boutique to work in tandem with her existing resale boutique, Twenty West. Talking through this idea, we started envisioning multi-purpose uses for the trailer. Collaboratively, we knew whatever decided on we wanted to provide an experience that would be unique, approachable, fun, and of course eye-catching! At this point, we were sold on vision and pursued the purchase of the trailer now Bar Noir.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
While building Bar Noir Atlanta as a brand, our focus is authenticity and lifestyle. Ideally we want to future-proof a brand concept that will inspire others to join. While building a brand may look effortless, we can all admit that early-stage learning is anything but transparent.
We are extremely excited about the launch of Bar Noir and inducting into the brand building portion of the business. With the success of our first event, hired and hosted by a popular tv series here in Atlanta, we plan on using each event as a proof concept improving where necessary.
My wife and I have always been obsessed with leveling our hobbies towards entrepreneurship. We met as a DJ and a wedding planner/photographer. Who would have thought our passions for trying new things would amount to this. There’s a quote I like “Never stop learning because life never stops teaching.”. No one said dreaming, building, and launching would be easy however, its been well worth it.
We are super excited and look forward to creating enduring experiences and memories.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are entertainers at heart. Our motto is “just go with it”! While we don’t believe in itineraries to drive our plans, we tend to take the spontaneous direction. For those of them who truly know us, they come prepared to eat, drink, sleep, and repeat. Atlanta is full of things to do, at times almost impossible to fit everything in a visit. We use our backyard often to entertain especially with our very own Liquor Lounge (He Shed) just a few steps aways from our back door.
Overall, we want our guest to relax and have a good time.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Personally, I would like to credit my wife, Myles for her amazing talents. Myles has an infectious personality and admired by many. Together we are a force to be reckoned with.
