Meet Darius Graves | Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Darius Graves and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Darius, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I first started my thought processes was literally “i have no idea what I’m doing but I’m going to do amazing things one day” i was constantly trying to think of ways of being the next off white or yeezy. Now it’s all about being the first DAZE IN BKUE.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m the founder and creative director of Daze In Blue. Daze In Blue is an American fashion company that designs and produces products inspired by a world of dreams.

My goal is to help humanity create a world of dreams with my character, Kumo, the baby cloud angel, as a guide. I stand apart aiming by targeting the kid and kid at heart. I believe that staying connected to that inner child is one of the keys to happiness.

I got to where i am today by staying consistent (i know a basic answer) but it’s truth. I always think about “wow” factors and taking a look at where everyone else is going and then going the direction opposite way. I started Daze In Blue coming back from a fashion internship in London and Paris. It wasn’t easy. everything you see is a result of me building it from the ground up with no money, no mentors, no schooling, no partners. Just a guy with a bunch of cool friends and a idea. I overcome challenges easily because I’m in love. There’s nothing I won’t do for this brand. So being patient, having clear understanding of reality, and making the best choices to move forward are ways that i overcome obstacles.

Biggest lessons I learned were believe in that gut feeling. Don’t think about how you can be better, think about how you can you stand out.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d take them to Paris. First day we’d eat at some of my favorite restaurants hit those famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, etc. Day 2 hit the Louvre (all day it’s huge). Day 3 relax at a spa . Day 4 shopping at Galeries Lafayette and thrifting more eating, day 5-6 got to the south of France and hit the beach

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shout to Charlotte, the city that raised me and supports me till this day.
