We had the good fortune of connecting with Danyelle Donnavone Brewer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danyelle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my business was to create a secondary income for my household. In 2018 I had a vision board and on that board I wanted to create me 3 streams of income, purchase me a home, quit my full time job as a customer service representative and be comfortable financially.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a educated multipreneur. I have a license in barbering and cosmetology. I don’t just jump with businesses. I prepare, plan then execute. I get excited when I have a new business idea I follow the 7 streams of income module to the “T” I’m in the beauty industry I have a hairline, a beauty bar studio, a beauty inspired T-shirt line. It’s not easy but I’m so grateful some of the challenges I face with my business are competition within the same arena but I’ve learned to hustle harder, stay in my lane and keep creating dope ish. Lessons I’ve learned along the way are always charge your worth, even advice cost and don’t stretch yourself to think for others that won’t do the same for you. I want the world to know I’m a single mother of 2 children with special needs, that still get out and hustle. My brand Danys Beauty Bar is dedicated for that mother on a budget that still would like to stay looking great for less.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend is visiting the area I would def plan a mini girls cabin trip. Order some room, wine services, strippers and fine dining and nothing but trap soul music.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to thank my parents and my grandmother for driving me to succeed in whatever I wanted to do. I can recall my father working as a janitor for the Troup County School System and me being ashamed. I can recall my grandmother telling me to never be ashamed of my Father’s job title because my father was doing what a man is supposed to do what to provide for his family. My father had 3 jobs and allowed my mother to go to school and obtain her Nursing & Business Degrees. My grandmother was also a hard working women, working several jobs even cleaning houses. So I often joke to my friends and I say “LAZY” me? Never, my bloodline was never lazy we hustled legally to get provide for our families. I’m grateful to have seen that blueprint for me to follow and I pray my children see my drive and follow this blueprint as well.
