Meet Dante Wesley

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dante Wesley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dante, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always been in the hospitality industry, so when my business partner Dominique Porter was thinking of starting a company to help people in the industry, I was immediately interested. We were thinking about how we can stay in the field we love, but also branch out and share our expertise with others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I began my career in the hospitality industry at a very young age. My brother and I would often go overnight with my mom while she cleaned restaurants, and eventually, we would start helping out. It was seeing behind the scenes that most people never see, I was intrigued. I started in fast food and local bars before getting an opportunity at the Four Seasons as a server. I would eventually work my way up to a Food and Beverage Supervisor position. From there, The One Group scouted me and offered me a position. It was there that I met Dominique, and the rest is history. I have learned to always make genuine connections because in this industry, you never know who you will be working with again.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would have to start the day with Toast on Lenox,small plates at Garden Room, and Dinner at The optimist. Late night drinks and DJ at Le Colonial.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dominique Porter has been the best business partner, and none of this would be possible without her.
