Meet Danny Huber | Chef & Owner Of Bertolozi’s Pizzeria

We had the good fortune of connecting with Danny Huber and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danny, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
On December 13th, 2021 my life changed forever when my mother Joyce (Bertolozi) Huber passed away after losing her battle to cancer. I quickly went down a path of self destruction struggling with severe depression, guilt and grief. Shortly after with the support of my wife and family I picked myself up and decided to get sober.
I started my business to honor my mother and other family members who have passed away. I also am using this pizzeria as a place for those who struggle with addiction as a place to have a safe place to get on the right path.

What should our readers know about your business?
Its hard to find cracker thin Tavern Style pizza in Atlanta. So I started my business out of my basement. Family and friends loved the pizza so much we decided to start doing pop-ups at local breweries. We quickly started selling out so we decided to get a permanent spot inside Roswell Junction. We specialize in Chicago Cracker Thin Pizza. I use techniques that were developed in the 1950’s and have put some modern spins on them, Our dough takes about a week to make and use high quality ingredients. The community and feedback has really got behind us and we are very thankful for that. We are in the process of looking for a brick and mortar.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would dedicate my shout out to my mother. She was the heart and soul of our family, the driving force behind everything we do, and the reason we named our pizzeria after her.
Joyce Bertolozi was not just a mother, but a dedicated and loyal Public School teacher who gave everything to her students and her family. She worked tirelessly, always putting others first, and above all, made sure her kids felt loved and supported. Her work ethic and passion for teaching inspired everyone who crossed her path.
Family was her world, and she showed us every day that love, loyalty, and hard work are the keys to success. Everything we have today, we owe to her endless sacrifices and boundless heart. This pizzeria is more than just a place to eat—it’s a tribute to her spirit, her dedication, and the warmth she brought into every room.
We miss you every day, Mom. You will forever be the heart of this place, and we promise to carry your legacy forward with the same love and care you gave us. It’s an honor to be your son and keep telling your story. I will never stop.
