We had the good fortune of connecting with Danjuan Witcher Sr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danjuan, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m originally from Toledo, Ohio, and I’m the youngest of all my siblings. I was raised in a two-parent home where faith and family were the foundation of everything we did. My parents are devout Christians, and we were very active in church, which deeply shaped my values and gave me a strong sense of faith, purpose, and community from an early age. Sports also played a major role in my upbringing. I grew up playing multiple sports and was especially inspired by my dad, who was an elite high school football player and went on to play at Florida State. Watching him and learning about his journey motivated me to push myself, stay disciplined, and pursue excellence in everything I do. My upbringing taught me how to stay grounded, work hard, and trust God through every season of life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am the host of Stool Talk, a podcast that is dedicated to celebrating adults and youth who make significant contributions in music, sports, literature, and life. I seek to bring inspiring stories to the forefront, highlighting my guests’ positive impacts and achievements. Stool Talk was supposed to begin back in 2018 before I moved to Georgia. The concept came to me one day, and I recorded a video describing what I wanted to do. It wasn’t until 2023 that I finally decided to launch out. I loved speaking to people, especially the youth, about their achievements and journeys. Not only am I given the opportunity to share inspiration for others, but I have also learned the power of consistency and passion in conjunction with faith. It can take you further than just hard work alone.

Many people ask where the name Stool Talk came from. Sitting in the locker room in college on a stool, talking about life and faith with my teammates, I remember how their stories inspired me. I wanted to have that same experience with everyone I interviewed.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting me, I would take them to Three Dollar Cafe, Zaxby’s, the College Football Hall of Fame, and other famous landmarks in Atlanta like the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park. We’d also check out any festivals or shows in the area.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout Rick Isaiah—a regional leader in the FCA, Coach George Rice III—coach, mentor, author, and motivational speaker, Jeremy Robinson—host of The IT Factor podcast, and my wife, Ashley Witcher, who is an author, mentor, publisher, and minister.
