We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Smalls and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was something that happened overtime. When I worked in property management, I was in contact with many subcontractors and individuals that had their own businesses. Eventually it birthed a hunger to start my own business. I just knew it was the path for me!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Crowned Blessed is in the process of growing/expanding. Thanks to social media, it has grown beyond my imagination. My business is a Self Care brand that encompasses all the aspects of wellness, mindfulness, healing and growth. We sell self care and skincare products but we also make it our mission to educate our customers/supporters about self care.

It has not been an easy journey. Being a relatively new mom and adjusting to the roll of motherhood & business owner has been challenging. Thankfully my business allows me to constantly put into practice the self care practices that I teach. I’m constantly coming up with ideas for new products and content to help others (and myself) prioritize self care.

Along the way, I’ve learned that you have to be consistent and remain true to who you are! Many individuals get lost in this world of entrepreneurship. They want to be like everyone that they see instead of being their authentic self. I learned that being who I am, be consistent, providing value and quality products is truly the key.

I want the world to know that Crowned Blessed is self care brand that goes beyond selling products. We show our customers and supporters the importance of taking care of yourself. We show individuals (especially mothers), that prioritizing your well-being and mental health is crucial to being the best version of you. Self Care isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity for all women!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many amazing places in Atlanta. If a friend was coming to visit, we’d go to all of the attractions like the cute tourist attractions of course. There’s so many amazing food spots that we’d have to hit up. I’d give them a list of the most popular ones and we’d go from there.

The most important place we’d go is to the APEX Museum. The African-America Panoramic Experience is truly a must see. You truly learn about our history going beyond the watered down stuff that they teach us in schools. Definitely a wonderful museum and a life changing experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost I would love to thank the individuals that set up this interview. I’m truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity. I would like to thank my fiancé for being super supportive of my business. Always encouraging me no matter how tough things become. I would also like to thank my 19 month old, baby boy for helping to fuel this fire in me. I can’t quit, I can’t give up because I want to show him that we are capable of anything!

I’m super thankful and grateful to the Most High for giving me the gifts, drive and mindset to achieve. My spiritual life has set the tone for the way that I run my business. I pride myself on morals, ethics and showing love/compassion to all.
