We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Pittmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Since the age of 12 my interest in cosmetology has grown. It started with braiding hair. I was interested in installing frontals, I got into doing makeup then I got certified to be a Lash Artist. My thought process behind starting my own business was being that both of my parents are entrepreneurs. I wanted to start perfecting my skill. I like the idea of being in charge and creating my own schedule while doing what I love.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Covid-19 pandemic was a challenge in itself and it had a lot to do with me perfecting my skill and really taking cosmetology serious. I had nothing but time on my hands so I started doing other people hair and makeup.I loved the feeling of making people look and feel better. I also revitalize old and new wigs. I customize and install frontal/closure wigs. One challenge that I’ve had to overcome is my deposit policy for my clients service. I’ve had to develop a two way trust system with my clients because it is a lot of scamming going on and I want my clients to trust me as much as I trust them. I overcame my challenges by taking precautions and praying. Manifesting helped a lot also. I would write my goals down, meditate and pray about them. The lessons I’ve learned along the way is that you have to be thankful for the good times and the bad times. There are gonna be tough times with being an entrepreneur but it’s all worth it in the end. I want the world to know that Lashedupbydani provides premium quality work leaving my customers feeling pampered and revitalized. Whether I’m providing lashes, hair or makeup.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my best friend to Top Golf and Dave & Busters they have the best air hockey. Personally I do not drink. Urban Air is fun. We would eat at La Tavola Trattoria. I would take them on a site seeing tour of Atlanta. I love the art on the buildings and the lights at night. We would get on the SkyView Ferris Wheel. I like the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are three people that I would love to give thanks to for inspiring me and their support is appreciated. My mom Devonna Cooper of Devonnas Delights, My father David Pittmon Jr. ( Barber) & My Mentor Ms. Nicole of Spalondynbella.
