Meet Danielle Dove | Graphic Design(HER)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Dove and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I love this question! Being a Creative/Graphic Designer has been something I have always wanted to do, but never pursued until recently. You know this pandemic has really given me the time to reflect on things that really matter the most to me. I realized that what’s important is doing the things you can’t stop thinking about. Something you are truly passionate about and brings that fire to your life. I completely switched career paths in 2020 I realized working in a box didn’t let me be truly creative. I have always been the one that loves growth and being innovative. Sometimes working in corporate places it’s hard to really express your true creativity. I noticed that I would always feel stagnant in my career, and that I would conquer a position and quickly want to move to something else. I felt like I was never fulfilled! So, being an entrepreneur crossed my mind a lot especially in the past couple of years. I wanted to be able to do something where nothing is never the same and force me to really use my creativity to bring visions to life. I started a cosmetics brand in 2020 and honestly that’s where I realized I liked the aspect of creating brands! I created the vision and I loved how when it was finished it told a story. I also used to have people ask me who designed your brand, website, logo, etc and I told them it was me and they were shocked. They even proceeded to ask me if I did actual graphics and I started to think maybe this is what I should do. I’ve always loved the idea of being in tech some type of way, but I didn’t know which way I wanted to go. So, while running my cosmetics business I started to realize maybe I should go into the direction of becoming a graphic designer. I had some DIY experience, so I decided to take a class and the rest was history. I fell in love with this path, and I feel like it truly fits. You know how they say divine timing, well this is it. I love every aspect of it, and I believe my work shows how passionate I truly am about building classic, timeless, and memorable brands. Being able to build relationships, and help other entrepreneurs create their dreams is so fulfilling. I hope to help as many people as I can because the most rewarding part is seeing how excited they are when the brand is totally complete.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me apart from others is that I’m not afraid to go against most trends. I like to set trends, but in a classy way. (I’ve always been a rebel lol).

I’m really excited about showing my work and others appreciating my design style. I am excited about the fact that my clients will be really trusting in me with their visions for their brands.

Graphic Design has been apart of my life for quite some time, but I really understood that this is something I’m really passionate about! For the most part I have been self taught since 2016, but I also took my skills to the next level. Over time I began to really master my skills! I learned that being an entrepreneur you have to wear all the hats, and being creative and showcasing your brand is definitely a part of that dynamic. So, while I worked on my previous business, I realized I loved the aspect of designing and creating a memorable brand. I was able to aid others on their business brands, and it was so rewarding knowing that we were able to showcase their products or services in ways that their customers loved.

Has it been easy? I would say yes and no. Yes, because this path is something that is truly aligned with me and it’s not just about the financial aspect for me, this is something I truly love doing. But I can also say no because I realized that it’s so much to learn and I’m so ready to conquer this and reach my full potential. I also have to really enjoy this process of growth, because there is always a lesson in growth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ahh this question is so hard! I’m really a homebody (I know I need to get out more lol). Hmmm I would have to say you can never go wrong with a good meal and drinks. I love to go to brunch, lunch, or dinner with friends and have the drinks flowing with lots of laughter and dancing too! My vibe would be Toast On Lenox, Fin & Feathers, Breakfast At Barney’s. The music is always flowing, the food is always delicious, and the mimosas are always bubbly! The vibe is always LIT and the best part is I can take a nap once I get home!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would really like to pay homage to everyone that has started this journey with me in 2020 when I started my first brand. It’s so many people that believed in me and saw something in me and pushed me to start this journey in graphic design. First, I want to thank my husband Terrance & my son Kaison. They have been the piece that keeps me going and always cheering me on. Then there is Teyana, who I met through social media. We started figuring out this world of business together. She has always been supportive, one of my very first orders with both businesses. Also, Aunusti she was the first person that really introduced me to graphic design as I took my first designing class with her. She was so transparent and helpful. Cassy! Omgosh! She was the very first person to contact me when I started Rose Dove Designs. Her knowledge in the graphic designer world is TOP TIER! I love her fresh ideas, she’s always on the latest trends, and has been so welcoming from the start. Even dropping gems to help me grow as a graphic designer. Taylar, thank you so much for being there to talk about everything! We’re graphic design besties! We started our journeys around the same time and to know that we are in the same industry and there is no competition, and nothing but support is amazing.
