We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle D. Cooks, PMP and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been my ability to pivot. Even while working in corporate, I was never afraid to move into a new position that was completely different from my current role.  I’ve never feared the unknown, it actually excites me! As a project management entrepreneur, everyday presents as an unknown, my morning can start in Healthcare and end in Outdoor Recreation. Every project I work on is different, so being able to provide my clients with the support, knowledge and tools they need to grow efficient and sustainable businesses requires me to be agile and make the necessary adjustments to ensure their vision comes to life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lagniappe Creative Consulting is a boutique project management firm. We offer solution-based services that improve our clients day-to-day operations via business management, process improvement, and technology implementation.  What sets Lagniappe Creative apart is that we see business with an “engineers eye”. I am able to leverage my unique expertise gained during my time in corporate to build, revitalize and empower my community. Our clients are small business owners, entrepreneurs and corporations, looking to startup, maintain or expand their business. Our approach to managing our client’s projects is both analytical and solution-oriented with efficiency as our top priority. This approach allows us to observe current business operations, anlayze data collected, then implement and/or improve thoses processes . Efficiency allows our clients to maintain healthy work life balance without sacrificing their business goals. We help startups by ensuring they have a solid operation model to launch their business. We also fill the technology gap that some clients find overwhelming, introducing them to the best technologies that will improve their daily operations by streamlining and eliminating tasks. I’m most proud of how Lagniappe Creative directly connects and supports the small business community. The beauty in supporting small business and entrepreneurs is that is creates a network. The work we do allows us to connect our clients together when opportunities align, contributing to a healthy, sustainable ecosystem for the small business community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being a transplant to Atlanta, there’s always someone coming to visit. My go to for a good time are Downtown College Park, I love how this area has revitalized itself and there’s great food and entertainment any day or time of the week. Atlanta Beltline, West End to get a little fresh air, exercise and people watching in. Fellaship has one of the best atmospheres in the city and the food is amazing! Definitely have to get some shopping in at Ponce City Market, love the eclectic choice of stores. And what’s a visit to Atlanta without a turnup brunch, my favorite is Mimosa Jam at Nouveau.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my tribe. My line of work is solely based on providing services for others which can quickly become draining, however I have have been blessed to have amazing family, friends, and fellow entrepreneurs around me daily that recognize this and take every opportunity to pour back into me. They are a constant source of energy for me.
