We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Coe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is what started my small business. After years of suppressing my love for photography and art, once I separated from the military and had our son, I decided to pick up my camera again. I decided to jump out of my comfort zone, educate myself on running a photography business, and lastly share my vision with the world. I would like to say I have a bubbly personality, but I am a true introvert. Photography allowed me to break out of that shell. Now I meet with numerous of faces and I get to make beautiful imagery. So my advice, take the risk. It won’t always be a win, but it doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Keep going.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well first, I am a wife, veteran, and mama! So dealing with the wild, chaotic, good, bad, and funny-I am fluent!

I began my photography journey as a teenager; first, with film and developing my own images, then later transitioning to digital photography when I purchased my first DSLR. For a while photography had slowly became more of a hobby when I decided to enlist, but after separating from the military, 10 years of service, marriage, and the birth of our son, I picked up my camera again!

Doing so reawakened a fire in me. Since then, I have expanded it into my small business. I have had been blessed with a few publications and many amazing clients!

My line of work captures authentic, unposed, and genuine CANDID (hence my business name) moments. When you get your gallery from me, I want you to FEEL something! You’ll notice I adore moody and vintage tones, so you’ll find that in representation of my work. I don’t want to get lost in your vendor list or be “someone who JUST took your photos”. I love building connections and relationships with my clients so when you work with me, you are your most comfortable self.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ponce Market is super lovely! From the high industrial scapes, to all the shops and yummy food! Definitely a spot you’ll want to visit

Piedmont Park for sure! It’s a nice little stroll to escape to for the day!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shout-out my son, Cayden, my husband Chad, my parents Paul & Erna, and all my family and friends, clients, that have supported me and pushed me to keep going!
