We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Butler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My genuine desire is to help other families live healthier lives & see them thrive. I am so passionate about what I do and paying forward all I have been blessed to learn along my journey. Did you know this is the first generation of children not expected to outlive their parents? I am NOT okay with that! I have found the best approach to helping families make changes that will improve their health is by educating and encouraging the moms, as they are usually the nutritional gatekeepers and the ones making lots of decisions + handling day-to day operations. (Shout out to the dads who do that too!) My goal is to always share practical tips, because most people are so busy they just need a quick tip or idea they can implement immediately (like a quick, healthy dinner idea). I also think being transparent is so helpful. Although I aim to live a clean + holistic lifestyle, I want to keep it real because my goal is to strive for progress over perfection, and I want others to have that freedom in their journey too. People need to know that small changes over time really add up and make a big difference! Living healthy doesn’t have to be as complicated as most think it is, so I want to simplify healthy living. I’ve also found that when people feel better, they are able to give their best to others and walk fully in their purpose and calling. People can sense that everything I share is from a place of love and wanting them to be healthier.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I really love business and entrepreneurship, but also have a background in education. I have a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Specialist’s degree in curriculum and assessment and taught business ed for five years. I stepped away from that when my first son was born, but throughout the years I’ve also taught fitness classes, pitching lessons, done some photography, and I was a blogger for many years.

My husband and I spent a decade running our own business in the health and wellness space leading a really large team and helping others take control of their health. I love combining my passion for teaching & health to inspire others.

I’ve now aligned myself as an affiliate for several companies with incredible products. I also run a large online Facebook community called Hip Holistic Mama with thousands of the most kind, helpful, & encouraging women I’ve ever met. Through that, I saw a need to a comprehensive guide to helping busy, overwhelmed moms take simple steps toward taking care of their family’s health. I created a course to help simplify healthy living for busy moms. The course has 12 guides (detox, better sleep, grocery list, favorite recipes, glowing skin, etc.), lists & links to all my favorite products, and a video tour throughout my home where I share lots of tips and my favorite products.

I think the most difficult part of running your own business is trying to balance work + home life. I have 4 children 9 & under and I homeschool them, so they’re with me all day long. We’re currently running multiple businesses, renovating a house, homeschooling our kids, juggling their sports + music schedules + date nights, serving in our community, & still taking care of our own health.

Knowing your purpose- the WHY behind what you do what you do- is what helps you overcome the obstacles and keep going when you feel like quitting. I think it’s also really important to surround yourself with the right people who will have your back, support you, and encourage you. We were created for community! Becoming a mom is the most rewarding, challenging, fulfilling, and exhausting roles I’ve ever been in, and that’s exactly why I created the Hip Holistic Mama Facebook community and course. I want other moms to know they’re seen, they’re not alone, and there are people in the trenches with them who can help them through the tough stuff. Plus, as our world is becoming more toxic, we have to work harder than ever to help our families to be healthier. Education is SO empowering, and when you know better, you do better.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh boy! Well I don’t think my idea of “fun” is the same as others, as I’m a self proclaimed ‘nerd’ and my idea of fun is attending a conference & taking classes. I’d definitely see if I could find something personal growth/development related. I also love helping others reach goals, so we’d head to the North Georgia mountains (Dahlonega, my husband’s home town and my college town) for a hike & to talk about their life, goals, and solutions to any problems they’re currently facing. (I’m not much of a surface level kind of friend.) We’d eat First Watch for brunch, and head to a farmer’s market & Costco to stock up on all kinds of goodies. We’d visit our chiropractor for an adjustment, sit in the infrared sauna to sweat out some toxins, and do a cryotherapy session. I’d cook one of my favorite meals (found in my recipe guide) at home & we’d drink some organic tea after dinner. We’d also visit the spa at Chateau Elan & and get dolled up to have dinner at Frankie’s the Steakhouse one night. Probably take a HIIT & hot yoga class, hit up TJ Maxx, drink some organic cold pressed juices. & go on lots of walks. Make some homemade bone broth & lotion for them to take back with them. Maybe grab a donut at Ponce City Market. And of course we’d finish the week going to a Sunday service at our church, Free Chapel!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I began a health journey as a teenager because I was adopted and didn’t know my family health history. I’ve learned so much throughout the years and am constantly evolving, but I was “crunchy” before it was cool (& mainstream like it’s becoming now). My husband deserves a shoutout because he has always been on board, whether it was attending conferences with me, trying a million different types of natural deodorant before finding one that actually works (if you know, you know), being a guinea pig for all kinds of home remedies and healthy recipes, and loving me through some of my crazy health habits. He’s the real MVP! Ha! Really though, I’m thankful he takes his health serious and appreciates my desire to live as healthy as possible. He’s incredibly supportive and I’m so grateful that we’re a team in this. He worked hard to support me as I created the Hip Holistic Mama course. That was such a labor of love and I worked with an incredible videographer & website designer too to bring that dream to life.
