We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by the thought that I can make a positive impact in the lives of others. Several factors played into this decision, such as, solid parental and family support which includes my three children and my past and future students. Words of wisdom from parents and other family members have instilled in me, the importance of making wise decisions and become self-confident. My three children all with different personalities and different talents, have inspired me to become a good mother, mentor, and role model for them. I want to be their inspiration in hopes that they focus on their education and become productive citizens. Indeed, they inspire me to push myself. I am also, inspired at work by my students, who I strive to motivate and help reach their own potentials. Finally, as business owner of Dainty Jewels by Danielle LLC. The people I encounter encourage me with positive thoughts, such as “one day at a time” and “keep pushing forward in achieving your goals,” inspired me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Along my career I encountered some personal challenges that would probably make some people give up or not work to reach their goal. I landed a job as a paraprofessional for Atlanta Public Schools. I had teachers who I admired in school, and I had teachers in my family who I admired. However, I was in my fourth or fifth year of working as a paraprofessional/ Pre-K teacher assistant that I realized I wanted to become a teacher. I developed a passion for teaching. I grew more of a passion for teaching children of poverty because they experience so much academically, mentally, and emotionally and even though they may face these obstacles, I want them to know that they are somebody and they can do whatever they put their mind to. Every child deserves an equitable education. Therefore, I joined Teach for America. A Pre-K teacher position became available at the school, I passed the GACE test and became the Pre-K teacher. I began the master’s program in Early Childhood Education at Mercer University. After two months of my first-year teaching, I was awarded teacher of month and after 3 months, I was awarded team of the month. I pushed my students for excellence. I set high expectations for my students and strongly believe that no matter where you come from, you can do it. All it takes is love, care, patience, engaging with students, motivating, and encouraging them and your students will reach for the stars. I learned about myself that I am a non-traditional Pre-K teacher. My style of teaching tends to engage students and motivate them to achieve at their highest level. I recently, was inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Mercer University. I am proud and excited about the many feedback and accolades that I received from both school and parents. A lesson I learned along is that one must remember you never know who’s watching you and proud that I was always on task and have planned my lessons well. One day, an observation team visited my class while I was instructing students in mathematics. Following this observation, I was chosen to present research-based best practices to the faculty and staff. I have been selected to serve on the Early Learning Advisory Council for Atlanta Public Schools. I plan to serve well and wear my t-shirt proudly. I felt somebody had observed my diligent work. I want the world to know that I am a dedicated teacher, who love teaching.
As for my business endeavor, I received a certificate in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell University. This year I obtained my business license, and my business name is officially Dainty Jewels by Danielle LLC. Dainty Jewels by Danielle LLC features jewelry for women and men. There are various styles of jewelry to choose from, such as urban, dainty, jazzy, chic, bold and bling. In my business I have learned to “do you” always. Don’t compare your business to others, because that is when you start to lose confidence in yourself.
I am looking forward to my 2nd year of teaching, graduating with a master’s degree in May 2024 and continuing to grow my business. This journey has not been easy being a single mother of three and having to overcome extreme shyness. By working my business has helped me overcome my fear of public speaking and it has helped me in my educational career path. My children have greatly motivated me. I want them to recognize that no matter what life throws their way, they can make it and not let obstacles stop you. The sky is the limit! With that being said, I leave this message to the world, never give up, believe in yourself and with God all things are possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all, I would like to give thanks and glory to God, my Creator. Secondly, I would like to give a shoutout to my family and close friends for always supporting me. Special thanks to my children (Janelle, Jayden, and Nevaeh), who are my motivation and inspiration. Thanks to my parents and my aunts who are always supportive and encouraging me. I thank them for their unconditional love. My educational career started six years ago. I worked under, my first and only principal, Dr. Phyllis Earls who was an extraordinary leader. She deserves a special shoutout. Thanks to her leadership, I was motivated to become the best teacher I could be. I found my passion working with Pre-K students. As a part of my professional development, Mrs. Kathy Edwards and Ms. Ashley Ginn deserve much credit and recognition in my story. Lastly, a shoutout to my customers for supporting and sharing my business. I have an amazing support system. I truly appreciate everyone!
