We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was about finding financial stability in a career I loved. I knew I had God given talents that would be able to support me, so, I created Makeup Craze. I didn’t know what I was doing at the time but I loved making woman extra beautiful and I had a true grind to be make it!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I stand out and in my own lane as a Creative because I am very well rounded and when placed in any situation especially concerning the beauty industry, I show up and fill the space where I am needed. I’m also no stranger to investing in my career to be sure that I’m ready when given opportunities. All of which I’m thankful for. I still make a lot of mistakes. But, I try and learn from every situation I’ve been through in my business to help bring about change. I still make a lot of mistakes, but I won’t stop.
I simply overcame every challenge by continuing to move Forward.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Long week with my friend coming in town, hmmm. Well, with my salon being in Springfield area of Jax, I usually eat or hang out close by. Crispy’s Springfield off 8th and Main Street. It’s a super chill spot and has the best broiled wings and pizza. The bartender be on point too, lol.
Oh and I found out about a new spot called The District and is also in the Springfield area on Walnut Street, with an outside backyard feel. Just real nice. I like Chicken Picatta and can’t wait to go back now that I’m writing about it.
We’d do some shopping at The Town Center and hit up a few local thrift stores.
If I’m in Jacksonville, I’m definitely planning around a work schedule so 4 out 7 days, we chilling lol.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, God. Where would I be without him. There are so many that have contributed to my success. I can’t name them all and won’t even try. From my family and friends to my beautiful clients who keep me going.
My Mom most of all because that’s where it all started. She always supported every and anything I was apart of or wanted to do.
