We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
One of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make was to stay at home and be a full-time mom for the first year of my daughter’s birth. I have been working full-time jobs, part-time jobs, temporary jobs, volunteering, ever since I was 14 years old so to not work and fully be home and take care of home. Life was not only eye-opening and life-changing, but allowed me to delve deep into myself and recharge before I get back into the working world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a model with a mouth. I believe most models are beautiful, works of art who used to not be able to be heard more so they were just seen. But nowadays I love seeing the change and modeling and allowing us to be more focal about our experiences and how we can use our looks to Change other walks of life. It was definitely not easy getting to where I am today and I still have much more work to do however, finding that confidence within myself, and of course, having the support around me has made the hardships that more easy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So, if you were to come to St. Petersburg Florida, I would want to take you to all of the art that is plastered around the city downtown and on the southside there is so much history, especially black history within the art and the people. I would take you to Lorene’s for the best fish and fries or Salem’s own as Gyros for a shrimp and wing combo. Also, you can’t leave without getting a crab tray. And first Friday, take a walk downtown and check out the lights and action and watch the city come to life!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Literally, all of my girls deserve recognition. The women in my life have made me better in all ways, they have helped me through my darkest times, and they have also helped me understand the reason for alone time; learning to love myself and be in my own peace. The sisterhood/tribe I have is one of a kind and I would be nothing without them.
