We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Jefferson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business is not being regular. I don’t want a regular job that I’m forced to do something I hate doing. To me it is like what is the point of living if you can enjoy, so a business allows me to do that especially if I am having fun in it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is called Vandalism Productions. The meaning behind Vandalism is to break down or vandalism the barriers of this industry. It is important for us to be different. We don’t have to be like everyone by being negative and giving out the wrong messages. I hear from people that the film industry is a crooked industry but we as a people are meant for better. So I am proud of the process of our business growing, we have fun at every step of the way! We got to the place we are today by trusting people and networking. People know people, followed by consistency, that is the key to us getting here. This is easier said and done, it was not easy at all, there were lots of failures. We learned from it by jus keep failing. Failing causes knowledge and lessons to fix next time. The biggest lesson I learned from is preparation. The more you prepare for every little detail of the project the more you will see your vision on screen. I want everyone want to know about Vandalism is that WE ARE ON A MOVE!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is an amazing place so the first place I will take them is Cookout. Cookout is not everywhere like McDonald’s but I had my best laughs, food, and moment at Cookout. The most interesting place to check out down here is Six Flags! Six Flags have me thinking I’m 10 years old every time I go!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A film production company always needs a team to start to grow and become something great. My team deserves to be recognized and we have Cameron Miles who is inspiration of the company, he enjoys the industry and does whatever he is asked of to get the project done. Then we have Justin Jones who is the glue of the company, he will find a way in any situation to make it work. Lastly we have Jeffery Mungai who has a drive to become a great actor and is just humble in every thing he do.
