We had the good fortune of connecting with Dana Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have been a part of the industrial manufacturing sector of the United States for over 40 years now.

About 10 years ago I decided to pursue the advanced manufacturing sector and develop new innovative products that could be produced in our local community.

My goal is to create high technology advanced manufacturing jobs for inner city youth that are seeking a STEM career.

I hold a US patent on a device that I want to manufacture I have several other products that are being developed now that will create the manufacturing jobs.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Dana Thomas. I am a native Ohioan and have lived in the Atlanta area for about 20 years and USAF Vietnam War era Veteran.

Are we discussed I have over 40 years of experience and credentials in the industrial manufacturing field I am semi-retired now.

I have work with five of the leading high technology industrial manufacturing firms in the world over the past 40 years.

I have been searching for assistance to help with a job creation project in the field of manufacturing. I’m looking for funding through the build back better initiatives.

I have been in contact with several government agencies such as the SBA and MBDA on the local and regional level with no results. How can I participate in the Chips & Science Act or Manufacturing push in the US.

It is not geared to assist a person of color in such an endeavor as to create jobs in the manufacturing field?

Our goal is to obtain the Capital Equipment Funding and Facilities necessary to open and operate what I call Micro-Manufacturing facilities.

The facilities will be located in SW Atlanta and Cleveland Ohio in our underserved urban communities to feed the infrastructure programs or supply chain needs in the area of CNC parts and Plastic Injection Molding.

The facilities would employ local residents in a workforce development effort using graduates from STEM schools or Trades Schools to give them the high-tech hands on skills needed to advance them to larger corporations such as INTEL or GE, Boeing Aircraft, and other high-tech manufacturing facilities.

We are also looking for Research and Development Grants for our highway infrastructure project using a laser system.

We have designed a sophisticated control system for highway safety.

We are currently doing research and development on a system that will be patented for Tornadoes and Climate Change that would Destroy a Tornado based on high technology devices currently used by the US Military.

DLT is a Research and Development Entity in manufacturing

Hi-Tech Job Creation in Urban and Rural Communities.

Our goal is to produce Plastic and Metal Parts used in various supply chain markets, locally and internationally.

For instance the increased awareness of Global Warming and the Intel Corp is building a Chip Manufacturing facility in Northern Ohio.

DLT is devoted to Manufacturing Revitalization in the United States and Hi-Tech job creation for the young people of our urban communities for a sustainable future.
