We had the good fortune of connecting with Damian Blair and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Damian, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My parents always had rental properties which gave me the incite to start a career in Real Estate. Prior to my real estate career, I worked in Retail sales as well as project management. With the changing economy and companies going out of business, I decided to get into the real estate business based on the longevity of knowing everyone has to have a place to live weather they are relocating or purchasing for investment potential. Real estate was an easy choice as it relates to starting a business. I’ve been very successful in this business since 2007

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m Damian Blair, Owner and founder of BlairGroupUSA, an International Real Estate Group based in Atlanta Georgia that handles real estate deals in multiple states in the United States and a few foreign countries. I founded my business in 2007 with the intention of helping individuals build generational wealth thru Real Estate. It is always more important to understand someone than to judge them in the business I’m in. My goal has always been to help individuals who either work as a Cashier to those who run fortune 500 companies obtain wealth as an investor or homeowner. Although my path wasn’t easy, it helps me to forge lifelong relationships with people like Niya Brown Matthews, an author who is dedicated to helping women globally face personal challenges, motivate and empower them to overcome the obstacles in their lives. Those relationships gave me the opportunity to help people in various networks to overcome the nonexistent dream of home ownership.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
With Metro Atlanta being such a huge area to navigate thru, I would first map out the historical areas of metro Atlanta. After checking in at my residence we would first visit the King Center which holds a wealth of knowledge which aided in multiple races having the opportunity to work together. We would visit areas like West End, East Atlanta, Atlantic Station, The AUC as well as say Hi to Pinky at Slutty Vegan then visit Busy Bee Cafe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many people who have been an inspiration in my life. The number one person who has molded me to be the person I am would be my Mother Ruth Blair. She has groomed me to be the best of the best. When all else fails, she has instilled teachings and life lessons which give me the strength to push me as well as help me understand how to push others to be successful. My parents were the first people to expose me to the world. I learned from various contractors how to maintain different aspects of a home as well as learn from my parents how not to get taken advantage of when budgeting for a home build or repair in real estate.
