We had the good fortune of connecting with Daisy Cuellar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daisy, what principle do you value most?
Maintaining a strong commitment to the values of impact and honesty is important to me. My goal is to leave a positive impact on others by making them feel loved and bringing a smile to their face. It’s important to remember that people may be struggling internally, even if they appear happy on the outside.
I believe that honesty is crucial in all aspects of life. Even if it may be difficult to hear, being truthful and staying true to oneself can lead to positive outcomes and opportunities. It’s important to avoid the temptation of pretending to be something you’re not, and instead embrace your authentic self.
Rather than subscribing to the idea of “faking it until you make it,” I believe that honesty and patience are the keys to success. By being honest with ourselves and others, and by patiently working towards our goals, we can achieve true and lasting success.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a Collateral Analyst in commercial finance, starting out in this new field was nerve-wracking for me. It felt like the first day of school – a new environment with new energy. I was anxious and sweating, and it was a rough start.
Despite the challenges, I know that my unique life experiences set me apart. I’m a small package with a big surprise, and I’m proud of taking a chance on this career and business. I had previously felt guilty and disappointed for wasting time in a job that left me mentally drained and unhappy. It took me six years to realize this and make a change.
I’ve learned that life can be difficult, but it’s all about how we navigate and operate within it. We can either let life control us, or take control of our own lives and strive for growth and potential. I want to encourage others to not be afraid of stepping out of their comfort zones and reaching for their full potential.
I’ve also come to realize that God has a way of making things work for our greater good, even in the midst of difficult times.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I first moved to this area back in 2011, I was excited to explore some of the places I remembered from my childhood. There were so many things on my to-do list, like visiting the Georgia Aquarium and the Atlanta Zoo. I also wanted to check out Ponce City Market, where you can enjoy a meal or drinks on the rooftop while taking in the beautiful views of the city.
One of my favorite places to go is Piedmont Park, where there always seems to be something going on. A picnic with a view of the city is a must! I also love getting out into nature and exploring nearby trails, like Kennesaw Mountain or Stone Mountain for a more strenuous hike.
For some fun in the water, we can go tubing at Lake Lanier or get an adrenaline rush at Six Flags. And of course, we can’t forget about the vibrant nightlife that Atlanta has to offer, with its wide variety of flavorful lounges and bars.
That’s just a simple itinerary, but there are so many amazing things to see and do in this area.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I credit my mother for being a role model and showing me that when life gets tough, the best thing to do is to keep pushing forward. Despite facing obstacles, she never gave up and always kept going.
I also credit certain individuals who tried to instill fear in me, because their attempts only made me more determined to succeed. I took chances and pursued my goals, knowing that time is a precious commodity that can never be regained.
