We had the good fortune of connecting with Daisha Banks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daisha, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
For as long as I can remember I’ve been a creative. When I was in middle school I wanted to be a fashion designer & a hairstylist. Currently I’m a Makeup Artist & Photographer in ATL. To bring along my creativeness, my mom used to make me customized wig heads to explore doing hair, and her and my dad showed me how to use a sewing machine correctly. I’m also currently a full time cosmetology student!

I truly believe that there is nothing I can’t do! Many times I can look at a task I’ve never done before & completely crush it, my hands are truly blessed. Doing creative work makes me really happy. A new creative hobby I’ve picked up is vlogging (reels, tiktok’s, YouTube, etc.) I’ve never done anything more peaceful in my life, AND it is a great way to build your social media platforms & promote your businesses!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One thing I think sets me apart from others, is my ability to just do it! A lot of people see a challenge & get intimidated. I like to face things HEAD ON & really challenge myself. It’s even more enjoyable when the end product is everything you imagined!

One thing that I’m most excited about right now is my photography career! Mainly because its still fresh to me, I’ve been in it for a year now & i originally only did it to find a new way to showcase my makeup work! I’ve been doing makeup for 6 years, but as you can expect in entrepreneurship i lost my fire for it. Photography immediately bought that fire back & I instantly fell in love with it. It felt like the FULL experience. Doing my clients makeup & then proceeding to take bomb pictures of them grew on me quick!

I got to where I am today by staying dedicated to entrepreneurship. We all take breaks, life has taken a toll on me numerous of times so I’ve taken a handful of breaks myself! Just make sure that each time you are consistent, but if you can help it PLEASE just simply stay consistent. “Consistency Is Key” is a real thing, do not take it lightly!

The only thing I want people to know about my brand is that The Lodaisha Artistry is only going to get bigger & better! So stay tuned.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My absolute FAVORITE restaurant has to be Longhorn Steakhouse! My favorite thing to order is Salmon over rice with a Parmesan crusted top, broccoli, and fries. My favorite place to go in Atlanta to clear my mind or spend time with my son is Candler Park, its nothing but open space to do whatever you want to do to relax yourself & it always feels so nice no matter what the weather is. In my view the most interesting place I’ve been in Atlanta is Ponce City Market. From the food to the vibes to the scenery, it’s definitely something to check out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I feel as if I wouldn’t be anywhere I am today without my parents, so I have to first thank them & God for placing me in their lives. Another BIG part of my journey is my son, he is the fuel to all my fire & he honestly is who i do it for! My best friend Alyisha who is also my son’s godmother is one of my biggest support systems, she doesn’t miss a beat in our lives & it’s greatly appreciated. A special thanks goes to my amazing boyfriend. He’s always ready and eager to help me figure this entrepreneur life out, without him and all of his efforts I would seriously have a clogged mind every day! Lastly, all of my friends, family, associates, and supporters keep me going with their encouragement, continuous support, & even just a repost of my latest content, THANK YOU!
