We had the good fortune of connecting with Da_Mrs CEO/FOUNDER OF PEACHY TEA TYME and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Da_Mrs, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Peachy News which falls under Peachy Tea Tyme brand. Being genuine and being myself is what makes my brand a success. On Peachy Tea Tyme I have a Special Edition called Peachy News which airs LIVE every Wednesday night. Myself and my Wednesday Night Only (male Co-host Jason) have one family on to Tell their Loved One Story. The loved one has been MURDERED by gun violence, domestic violence, prison system, or even by the Police. I give them my platform to tell their story in their own words with a NO JUDGEMENT ZONE. While bringing awareness all at the same time. Plus plenty of healing. I make each guest as comfortable as possible.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m the CEO and Founder of Peachy Tea Tyme. Peachy Tea Tyme is the umbrella that Peachy News, Peachy Talks, Peachy Hits “The Weekend Spot”, and Once Upon A Time With Da_Mrs all fall under! Once the pandemic started and we were all quarantined, I was able to find my passion, Peachy Tea Tyme. It became more than my passion, it became a new and additional career for me.
My passion has grown into something I am extremely proud of and HAPPY doing. When you are able to help people in the most genuine way, it makes life so much better. What sets my brand apart from others is that I am bringing awareness about Crime News from our Black Community to the forefront as genuinely and realistically as possible. My guests are always made to feel comfortable and encouraged to come as they are. I do my best to meet everyone where they are in their journey.
I continue to do my best bringing crime that occurs around the United States in our Black Community because of it’s importance to the community. I have to stay prayed up at all times. Sometimes, bringing crime to the public is not an easy task at all. It gets very overwhelming talking about death 4 times out of the week. However, I know this is something God paved the way for me to do.
Some of the lessons I have learned during this journey so far is that everyone is different and the views of life are not always the way I expect them to be. I also learned that our culture is in trouble. My children are small children, so to see the lives of these teens that are out here killing people left and right is very hard to accept.
I try to present my shows with some CAUTION and plenty of AWARENESS. What I want the world to know about Da_Mrs is that I’m not afraid to take risks. Covering crime is not for everyone, watching crime is not for everyone, but awareness is for everyone. So remember when you are watching Peachy Tea Tyme that it is about cleaning up these streets to make our communities a lot better for us all to live, congregate, and have a peace of mind living in.
I’m also a Radio Host at Hits 92.3 Atl . I interview Independent Artists, Business Owners, etc. I give them the opportunity to come interview with me to gain more exposure by either coming into the studio or doing it virtually . The in person studio interviews get special perks like a professional photographer to take photos before, during, and after the interview. I then started my own merchandise line. It includes lip gloss, lipstick, hoodies, t-shirt lines and more. All of my merchandise is available to buy on my website!
Having my own business has shown me that I can do anything and conquer it all. The main challenge I have endured would have to be finding balance between business and personal life. Although it can be challenging and I wish I had the answer or even a rule book for navigating the journey, it is rewarding. I continue to work at it daily because the outlet for families to share stories about their loved ones as a part of their healing journey is desperately needed.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the hottest spots here in ATL! I would take her to the Trap Museum, Ponce City Market, RoofTop Party, Art & Spark, and for the night life, Magic City, Restaurants, Old Lady Gang, Frost, Escobar!!! It’s a must we do some shopping at Lenox Mall and Perimeter Mall.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
