Meet Cynthia Braer | Dog groomer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia Braer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I am a risk taker, I believe that it is involved in everything we do. Whether is a small decision or a big one there is some level of risk involved.
Risk has been a big part of my life, starting with making the life changing decision to move to the US at 19 years old, followed by joining the Army reserve at 21 which turned out to be the best risk I could’ve taken since while in service I met my now wonderful husband and have created a beautiful family.
Then in 2014 I decided to move to a different state by myself to officially learn dog grooming from a very experienced teacher, I didn’t know if I had the talent to pursue this career path but I knew I loved dogs and it was a risk worth the try.
The latest risk I have taken after working for someone else for 12 years is opening my own mobile dog grooming business, I have been fortunate enough to have people that believe in me and have supported me unconditionally with words of encouragement throughout the process and I can finally say I am living one of my biggest dreams, to be my own boss.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own High Society Grooming, a mobile dog grooming service.
I take great pride in my work, I love to achieve my costumers vision for their dog. Everytime a pet parent is happy with the results it energizes me to continue providing quality service for my clients,
I love to see my 4 legged costumers get excited when they see me, it definitely makes my day brighter to work with so many different dogs with incredibly different personalities and quirks.
It has been a long and difficult road to get to where I am today, a lot of challenges and tears along the way but I always believed that I could be my own boss so I keep pushing forward even when it meant long draining days, but I am excited for the future and how far I can take this adventure.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to keep pushing forward no matter what, and no matter who believes in you or not. As long as you have a vision of who you want to be in the future you can make it happen.
I want the world to know that I strive for perfection in my business, I want every dog that I work on to look and feel their absolute best. I do everything in my power to achieve what my clients have in mind for they fur companions.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely start with korean BBQ, my husband and I really enjoy Breakers.
We would have to visit the classics like the world of coke, the aquarium and six flags.
I also really enjoy visiting the High Museum of art, the SkyView Atlanta at night is a gorgeous date, the botanical garden is a must.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a few people that I owe where I am today.
Starting with my husband who has always let me be me, and supported my decisions no matter how crazy they might seem to him.
My mother for believing I can do whatever I set my mind to.
My very good friend Casey which since we met has had words of encouragement for me everyday, offers advice and humor to any situation.
and lastly the people that have doubted me because that has definitely pushed me even more to achieve my goals.
