We had the good fortune of connecting with Cyd Prather and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cyd, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The TINY Theater Company is for the people. Its a company where we all feel equal. The purpose, to create a safe space for black people to create, expand, and imagine. Its a space for change. Its a space for community. Its a space where everyone feels at home. The Tiny Theater Company gives a new definition to Black Culture and showcases Black Bodies in a broad spectrum. Follow @thetinytheatercompany on Instagram for more. No its not easy. Its very difficult doing this alone sometimes. My Faith has gotten me thus far. I love to serve. I do feel tired. So I may break for a bit. Ive learned so much. Too much to type. Id like the world to know that The TINY Theater Company is a Safe Space. For The Culture. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Id like to dedicate this shoutout to Aubrey Williams and her Theatre Company, The ACTivist Theater Company. Black Matter Book Reading and Signing Dec. 19th, 7pm at the Windmill Arts Center, Play/FIlm Feb 26th-28th 8pm/3pm showings at The Windmill Arts Center.
