Meet Crystal Smith | CEO & Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal, how do you think about risk?
I think risk have the potential to be a great opportunity to explore the unknown. If you never take any risk, then you’ll never know the outcome of certain situations and or opportunities. Without risk there is no reward, I heard in a song that “chances make champions”.
With that being said, risk pertaining to my life and career go hand-in-hand. I feel like I’ve been doing risky shit since I was a kid, you know nothing too serious. I’ve always enjoyed pushing boundaries, I’m a Virgo what can I say! In terms of with my past and current career choices, risk definitely played a big role. I’m simply taking a chance on something that I believe in. Not letting the trials and tribulations deter me from pushing forward.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The thing that sets me most apart from others, is that I am not afraid of not putting any type of censorship in my clothing. My designs are eccentric, unfiltered yet expressive. Whatever I envision, I have the ability to put it on a piece of fabric. With that being said, that’s something I am most proud about. It excites me to come up with various designs however It is also very challenging as well. Especially when it comes to all the colorway options and staying current with the social media marketing trends.
Consequently, some lessons that I have learned have actually helped me overcome some challenges that I have been faced with. The main priority is to always stay consistent and be persistent in every endeavor. If option A doesn’t work than its up to you to find a solution.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Whenever I get the chance to come to Atlanta, I would start off the day at Fin and Feather ‘s. It’s a great place to pregame and have a little bite to eat. Head over to the Trap Museum, where your emersed in culture appreciation, vibes and history. Not to mention the bartenders definitely get you lit.
Next day hit up a daytime spot called Club Platinum, which is strip joint with good food. It’s easy to lose track of time in there! Views Bar and Grill is another daytime going into the night spot that is fun as well and bomb food. I haven’t been too many different restaurants, but one I do like is STK.
At the end of the night, it’s always good to turn up at any one of ATL’s popular strip clubs. My favorite one to go to is Onyx, strip clubs in general are filled with a lot of interesting characters and can be very entertaining. To me I feel like they’re more fun and freer spirit than a regular nightclub.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Generally speaking, it’s hard for me to narrow it down to one particular person, place, or thing. Over the past three years I’ve made so many vital connections. I’ve received an immense amount of support from strangers, family/friends, DJ’s, coworkers and some influencers. Everything that goes into branding from modeling, promo, marketing etc. These people have helped me, in addition to reassuring me that I am on to something hot and different.
