We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Buckley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want people to remember that what I have decided to do about what I went through, is what makes me the woman I am today. I have become an advocate for women who went through or is still going through any form of abusive relationships. Abuse is not ok, and I have shared my story with the hopes that one person will come to realize that it is not acceptable.. Also that there is hope after any situation once you came out alive.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My book from broken to redeemed is my biggest motivation, since I wrote it back in 2022. This book is about a woman who survived domestic abuse (similar to my story). I have since became open and has spoken about my story on several platforms.. bringing awareness to the fact that Abuse is not ok. Been a survivor myself it is important for ladies to see that if God took me out of it.. he can do the same for them and that has made me speak,, even though teary eyes sometimes.

Also after Abuse, what do one do??

I am also here to let any woman who came out alive know that there is hope.. yes It will be hard,, but through prayer and determination you can still live.. still become whatever you want to be, still pursue the career of your choice. Because this thing did not kill you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Cayman Islands is a beautiful island and so if my best friend came to visit I would definitely take her to the beach, then we could stop by the grape tree Cafe to get some of their delicious fried fish with fritters. Then we could hang out at peppers for authentic and cayman style food and also listen their bands play live music.. then sunday its on to church, praise and worship is the best next to hearing the word.. we would end the week sight seeing the caves and museums.

I’m extremely happy for the support my family and friends came me throughout this journey.Special thanks to my spouse, who was my listening editor, and motivator while I wrote the book .
