We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Schofield and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After finishing my undergraduate degree in 2017, I moved to a new city in hopes of finding my dream job in a PR or communications-related field. I received rejection from several companies. I quickly faced post-grad blues and almost gave in the towel and moved back home. As a recent college graduate and jumping into the professional world, I had many complacencies. It was difficult to land my first position or job due to a lack of experience in communications. However, I could not; being exposed to entrepreneurship since the age of 22 and starting a boutique from my college apartment. So, I created my own experience to add to my resume and birthed Cache Public Relations, now known as The Cache Agency; now, I employ recent alumni from my college and looking to expand and help other women in the same predicament.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Cache Agency, we are a team of creatives obsessed with social media, branding, and marketing. Our goal is to maximize the connectivity of your brand by providing you with top-notch service and creation across all social channels. We develop long-term strategies focused on growth and scale to create a meaningful impact for our clients and partners.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way-
Creating systems for your online business is the key to success! Systems allow those around you to work more efficiently and effectively with less stress. I enjoy helping my clients create this streamlined experience for their customers, vendors, and organization – always ensuring their processes are efficient, scalable, secure, and sustainable.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have been inspired since an adolescent. Growing up, I got a chance to see women in entrepreneurship. There were mentors around me, from family friends who owned local beauty salons to taking internships with a woman-owned bridal shop. So, I thank my village and all the successful people that molded me into who I am today. Conway SC raised me.
I always had this fire inside, but it did not truly spark until my son was born; he is the light of my world, and now I have a great purpose. I am creating generational wealth. I did not come from a wealthy family, but one will come from me.
