We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Reynolds and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind Healthy Lengths is to provide women with washing techniques, hair tools and products to elongate the life span of their Wigs and Extensions.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What brings me so much joy is seeing customers facial expression, being able to enhance their beauty every time. What sets me apart is my customer service also incorporate Self Care ideas to my customers throughout the week. This journey definitely wasn’t easy. To overcome my challenges, I connect myself through my Faith first. Then connect and network with other business owners for advice and guidance. Lessons that I learned along the way is EVERYTHING is a process. Take it slow, there is no rush! What I want the world to know is we all experience fear at some point in time. Do NOT let it hold you back from anything! Do whatever you put your mind to.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh Wow! I love entertaining! I would definitely take them to a few restaurants here in Atlanta. We would kick off our week with lunch at Roc South Cuisine or Slim and Husky’s. We would catch brunch at my favorite spots ‘Breakfast At Barney’s sipping on a Watermelon mojito. By the end of the week, we eat at BQE Restaurant and chow down on their fried chicken and red velvet waffles. Or eating at Sivas Bar & Lounge. For some day fun activities, we HAVE to visit The Painted Pin (Just to name a few).
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I read a book by Elaine Welteroth “More Than Enough.” Before launching my business, I had so much “self” fear. Fear that my business would not be successful. While reading her story, I noticed that I had to change my thought process and release the fear from my mind. After reading her story, I will never let fear stop me again!
