Meet Courtney Ingram: Certified Personal Trainer and Health Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Ingram and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
My logic has always been, the bigger the risk the bigger the reward. Although it can be scary and uncertain, I know that without taking risks we would never reach our full potential and only become a fraction of whom we are destined to be. Taking risks has played a huge role in my life and where I am today. Moving to Atlanta in 2016 was one of those risks. I moved 16 hours away from home without having a job lined up or a clear plan of what exactly I would be doing. I literally only had money in my savings to live off of, faith, and confidence that I would find my way. After being in Atlanta for 6 months, I found myself at a job that I wasn’t passionate about which led me to my next big risk. I left that job and decided to go all in for my passion in the Health and Fitness Industry. Since then I have continued to successfully operate and expand my business and brand. Taking risks has helped me overcome fears and build a life for myself that was once only a dream.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My mission is to help women reach their highest potential and become stronger not only physically, but also mentally. Helping women build confidence and self-love through health and fitness has been one of the most amazing feelings for me! Fitness is a lot more than just “weight loss” or “body goals” it’s truly a lifestyle of being committed to bettering yourself daily and overtime reaping the benefits of actually staying committed. There are so many mental barriers that must be broken in order to get to the next level in life and I feel honored to teach and impact women to make the changes necessary for a true lifestyle transformation.
Growing a business is hard work and it definitely took time to find my niche and grow my clientele to where it is now. It wasn’t always easy but the path has been well worth it! I’m super excited to continue to grow an army of strong confident women that aren’t afraid to go after what they want in life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so many great places to eat in Atlanta! If and when my friends come to visit, I would take them out to brunch at Rock Steady, a Negril Village or Milk and Honey. Then, in the evening we would head back out to The Garden Room and Bar Vegan for dinner and drinks.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Grandmother has always been my biggest supporter and role model over the years. As a beautician for over 56 years, she introduced me to entrepreneurship and showed me early on the possibilities of running a successful business. She has always encouraged me to follow the path meant for me even if I go through seasons of uncertainty.
