Hi COUP, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Ecclesiastes 11:6 ‘plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another or maybe both’. i like to see the fruits of my labor & having multiple practices leaves the door open for many opportunities. being an artist has no limit, so each day i can find new inspiration through life & creation. staying busy isn’t a choice with the amount of ideas i come across. always making sure to take advantage of every 24 hrs i’m gifted.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
my art is a reflecting of me. in my life i tend to be emotionless, by avoiding vulnerability in my relationships. art is a form of expression i use to convey some of my thoughts & hurts. learning to be vulnerable and accepting of love is a challenge i wish to overcome. creating is therapy. there is no right or wrong, no limits, & inspiration is everywhere. using my mind + gifts to create last any earthly feeling. i am grateful to be an artist, push my ideas, & connect with so many different people. i am in the position i am in today, because of my determination and numerous connections i have made. never give up on yourself even when it feels like everyone has given up on you. we all have a purpose to make the world a better place. get around high level thinkers, people who strive for something bigger than themselves, & folks who are real. coup wants to inspire and spread peace. to be able to impact all types of people who will tap into themselves & make a change. im here to bring change.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
first stop is saint germain for lavendar tea & a apple cinnamon tart. go shopping at heavy market, 2ndstreet , collected atl. imma run through little 5 points, & visit the high art museum. stop by fellini’s pizza or the deli for lunch. depending on who it is they gotta say hello to the family. i will probably end up at a park some point in the day. everyday includes the cameras. i enjoy capturing the moments with my friends. documenting all types of experiences shared with people i care about. i have the most fun being outside living in the moment. there’s always something to do that will get your mind off things for a while & be an enjoyable reality. could be as simple as walking the beltline, buying fabric, or drawing at the park. i try to make the most of everyday.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
i want to thank my parents for always seeing me. always loving and supporting me through the highs & the lows. when speaking of my dreams i’m reminded that i can do anything i put my mind to. very grateful for the push my folks give me to be greater than myself.
