We had the good fortune of connecting with Cory Br0wn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cory, what is the most important factor behind your success?
the most important factor behind my success isn’t myself its God then after that its the people I choose to keep around me. My spiritual foundation has always gotten me through the storms in my life. God has open so many doors that only can be explained by him. As far as those closes to me, a wise man once told me “you should never be the smartest person in your circle and if so you need to leave.” I upheave these heavy. This is why I have grown so much.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a poet first Rapper my unique Diction combated with my diverse subject matter & off kilter flows creates a experience that can only be describe as me. I am most proud of the people’s lives who I have been able to touch with my craft. you don’t expect something you create to hold so much value to complete strangers more or less for them to tell you it brought them out of a dark mental state. I got to where I am today from failure you learn to adapt and keep going. The biggest lesson I have learned is to not be afraid to Try and fail. I be happy to Fail. I want the world to feel my confidence and reflect that onto themselves.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m currently in Valdosta, GA for college. there’s not much to do per se like most places so you have no choice but to be creative. The best thing is the creative community down here. Valdosta has a lot of old vintage buildings which is great for photography and if you get to experience a creative vibe session where creatives get together and just create whether that’s scatting, live instrumentation, singing, rapping, fashion, doesn’t matter. After a vibe session probably Eat at DAD’S ( a locally own mom and pops soul food place that stays open to 4AM on weekends). or Waffle house. one of those days id take them to the Roy Copeland Africans American museum. despite their race its a dope experience to see. Valdosta has a lot of history.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a special shoutout to Decory and Natasha Brown my parents are the best parents ever. they instilled the foundation of who I am too. they have shown me how to operate out of love. they have given me the space to fail but still support me and I thank them.
