We had the good fortune of connecting with Corsica Long and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Corsica, what do you attribute your success to?
To have a successful business is the ultimate goal for me because I’m trying to gain generational wealth. When I started my businesses, I thought about the long haul, I wanted to leave behind something for my son and nephew to fall back on, to take over. Nothings like generational wealth that can be passed down from generations to generations. Raising black kings, you never want them to beg or lean on anyone’s else but their self and as crazy as it may sound I don’t want them to work hard for their success, I want them to work smarter, learn the game and milk it and pass it down to their own. I’ve already have my son a cd , he has his own business and his tuition is half way paid for, so go to college and become a successful man and run the family businesses. I’m big on fashion but I rather pass down llc’s, titled and deeds to my seeds.
I own a hair business, cleaning service, co-own a boutique, vending service, online jewelry store and up coming home health service, so if not all I pray nothing but success on my businesses and hopefully my kids take over one of their choice if not all.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my business in 2012, a business no one in my town was into, and put out major products that was my own creative ideas, with little to no money, I never copied, everything I started and did was from the heart, many things I see big in others business today, so let’s me know I influenced many, my style is unique and I love the fact I’m known for just that. I never gave up on my visions. I brought them to life and executed them, and made profit. Nothings never to big if you believe in your self. If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again, greatness don’t always happen over night, but a great product speaks for itself so for me to still be in business after 8 long years, means and says a lot . And I’m forced greatful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We don’t have a lot to do back home, so when my people’s in town I always show them a good time! From great food at Tasteonlenox, to partying all across the city, I’m so happy I can party I go from one spot to the next ! It’s never a full moment in the A, or surrounding areas. I love it here lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God always comes first, because that’s where my strength comes from, because with him anything is possible. My mom for always having my back and pathing the way for me and being my start up for my business and paying for my schooling. My guardian angel, my sister Kentera, for even before she went on her long vacation to heaven she was not only my business partner but my pusher. My son for coming into my life at the moment I needed him most and making me never quit . Lil Wayne for the awesome and greatest song ever “go-getta” cause it gets me by every morning and pushes me never to give up. And last but not least,Myself for my creativity, my drive, my ambition, my faith, my leadership, believe in yourself and self love can get you very far !
