We had the good fortune of connecting with Corinne Victoria and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Corinne, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risk is a huge step, and a lot of people don’t take them simply because of fear. I’ve learned if you allow fear to handicap you, the chances of you living out your purpose is limited. I live by faith, and truly believing in myself to be able to complete anything I dedicate time, consistency and focus to. I begin taking risk at a young age, and honestly I couldn’t be happier I did. I made sure to set myself up to be comfortable while pursuing my dreams by saving, studying my craft, surrounding myself with positive people in the field I wanted to be in, and taking necessary classes to put me ahead to be successful at everything I did.
Fear attempted to hold me back several times, and I’ve learned on this journey through life there are pros and cons to taking risk. However, I never wanted to be in a hypothetical situation of not knowing what could have happened. Everything more than likely will not work out exactly how someone envisions 100% of the time, but having the power to say, “I tried” is rewarding on so many levels.
The role taking risk has played in my life has left me with an abundance of gratitude. I kept faith along my journey, and I landed my dream career as an actress and writer for my own show, which became a success in less than a year. I had so many road blocks and people telling me my chances were slim, but I stayed focused and paved the way for myself.
If I would have never taken the risk and necessary steps to advance my career, I would not be where I am today or be able to give people who look up to me hope. I want them to know if I did it, they can too.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Coco Just Being Coco is pure comedy that was initially created for the purpose of entertaining adults, but quickly changed to children and families after an outpour of love was given. I created the main character, Coco who is relatable to all age groups, which has made family time that much more enjoyable!
Getting this show going started as a vision, and became a reality in a short amount of time. I give a lot of credit to social media for getting my dreams off the ground. When social media is used correctly and efficiently it literally can take your career to the next level. This is why studying your craft, understanding your algorithm, and knowing your audience is extremely important. A lot of work and strategic planning is required in this field to make sure you are delivering good content, but it truly is worth it.
I’ve learned that creativity is a gift and if given, you should maximize off it. Set yourself up to win and then go for it. If it doesn’t go as planned…. there may be a blessing in it that puts you exactly where you’re suppose to be. I also found that people need entertainment to stay happy, and it was brought to my attention how important this was during the pandemic. Thousands reached out to me letting me know my content helps keep them smiling during tough times. That and faith is what keeps me going.
Im excited to take Coco Just Being Coco to the next level! I have so many ideas for this show, and I am most thankful for all the fans around the world. I see Coco on tv, in stores, and recognized by some big names soon. Until then, I will continue to put my all in everything I do to keep growing.
I am a woman from Chicago who had a vision and wasn’t afraid to take a risk. My journey had some bumps and turns, but I kept going until my vision came to life. I’m most proud I am able to bring joy to millions of people across the world, and I tell myself daily to #justbreath and #keepgoing

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to a very special person who told me I was going to make it back when I was in high school, and when I did… to make sure I shouted her out. Hahahaha, THANK YOU to my Drama teacher Ms. Donna Martin for giving me hope!! You truly were my biggest push to give acting my all, and you knew before me that I would be successful at it. I can’t fully explain how valuable your teachings, and opinions have been to me. You helped birth my creative side, and I am forever thankful. I am a strong believer that everyone comes in your life for a reason, and I am so happy God saw fit for you to come in mine. You saved me in more ways than you possibly would imagine, by allowing me to use my creative side to stay afloat while I was dealing with my own issues. Thank you… I appreciate you… and I will never not give credit to one of the best Drama/theater teacher’s on the planet.
