Meet Cori Cranford: Regional Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cori Cranford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cori, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
I have never fully agreed with the phrase, “Never give up.” We have all been given this advice at some point in our lives. This phrase, in my opinion, is overused and overrated. I have come to realize, if we do not leave the things that aren’t working in our favor behind; then we won’t be able to move forward to the things that are truly meant for us. Refusing to give up on something that is difficult and out of our reach will only hold us back from bigger and better opportunities in the end.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Several years after my father passed, My grandparents were diagnosed with cancer. After helping to take care of them until they passed, I realized taking care of the elderly was where I truly needed to be in life, but for some reason, I ignored my calling and re-enrolled in college to earn my degree in psychology. After a few years in the mental health field, I just didn’t feel satisfied at the end of the day. I couldn’t put my finger on it but knew something in my life needed a change. About a year and a half ago, I took a leap of faith and logged onto Zip Recruiter and immediately, as in the first job that popped up, saw a job posting for a Homecare company looking for a Regional Director for their Atlanta location. I didn’t read the description. Oddly enough, I felt the urge just to click, auto-apply. After hitting the button, I remember laughing out loud, thinking to myself, why did you just do that? So I went back to read the description, researched the company, and then prayed, if this is where I was meant to be, then put me where I need to be. I am beyond thankful I took that leap of faith that day!
What was the end result? Well, here I am, nearly one year later, the Regional Director for Bluebird Homecare’s Atlanta office, and I couldn’t be more proud to work for such an amazing company. I have a career, a purpose, something to wake up to each morning and be proud to do it! Helping the elderly stay in their homes with their loved ones is one of the most rewarding accomplishments I get to take action in on a daily basis. My motto for the Atlanta office is, “It is our greatest hope to provide you with peace of mind in knowing your family and loved ones are cared for beyond your expectations.” I truly mean that as I know very well, the importance of having compassionate caregivers and nurses caring for someone’s dad, mom, grandparent, etc. I could not see myself doing anything different and look forward to many, many more years of providing home care services in Atlanta and surrounding areas to those in need.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start the visit with a cabin stay and wine tour in North Georgia over a two day period. We’d come back for a baseball game and visit the battery if possible. The remanding days would be spent checking out the local Atlanta attractions such as the Zoo, Belt line, Ponce City market, or getting a citypass and spend the the rest of their stay sightseeing Atlanta.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A huge thank you to my family and friends for always supporting me and helping me get to where I am today! To love is to be loved and I honestly feel, I would not be as successful in my home care career with out each and every one of you. I also would not be successful with out my team! A huge shout out and a major THANK YOU to all Bluebird Homecare Atlanta caregivers and office staff for all that you do…especially in times like these!
