We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Corey, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Helping humanity makes me happy.  One reason this makes me happy is because it is such a joy to see others happy. We are living in a heavily draining society, and helping humanity, through its heaviness, brings me peace.
Another reason is that I’ve been down in several valleys and wanted someone to throw me a life line, so I know the feeling of being down and wanting help.

What should our readers know about your business?
My speaking journey commenced over 20 years ago when I became a preacher. I was blessed to be a locally popular and busy speaker. I was averaging over 15 different speaking engagements a month. I also became a pastor two years after my initial sermon. Though I was raised in church and my dad was a deacon, I did not stay with the Christian beliefs. Approximately 8 years into my speaking career, while I was the senior pastor, I walked away from the church. I walked away from Christian beliefs and first became a full Messianic Hebrew. I left the Messianic understanding and became a full Hebrew Israelite. I eventually left the Hebrew Israelites and started studying Islam and other small belief systems. I left there and became fully involved in the ancient Egyptian beliefs, known as the Kemetic understanding. I left the Kemetic understanding and became a full-out atheist. From atheism. I got involved in voodoo and other dark beliefs. In each one of those transitions, I became a teacher or leader.
Through the passing of my father, life eventually navigated me back to my roots in believing in God.
Because I became fully involved in different understandings and met different people, those experiences have allowed me to be able to help humanity wherever they are without any type of judgment.
My journey has given me a heart for humanity; that’s why I’m happy when I’m helping.
Currently, I’m able to speak to any religious or non-religious group and encourage them to be better as a whole and to help them extract their purpose in life.
My journey and experiences were a lot longer than this, but this somewhat summarized my journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, we will go to a local bar or restaurant, eat, and catch up with life. We will then catch a local football or basketball game. We will visit family and friends. We will go to a pool hall and shoot pool. We will gather some friends together for a backyard football or basketball game. We will also throw something on the grill. Sunday, we will worship at The City of Hope in Columbia, SC.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course, some family and friends played a huge role in my ascension. Many thanks to my community, which is showing me a lot of love and support by spreading my messages and exalting my mission.
