We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey Porter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Corey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was more of an experience. I was determined as a teenager that I wanted to be my own boss after experiencing working for someone else. It was not a bad experience but my ambition was one that pictured what the owner was doing while I was working hard. Why not be that person? Therefore my mom always said ” Be a leader not a follower”, so here we are today.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well, my business is all of my own work, no investors or partners, just myself. This I feel sets me apart in my opinion because there are many people with many ideas and they may not ever get a chance to attempt the idea, due to fear of stepping out on faith, lack of resources or no confidence that it will work. I had no fear or doubts that this idea could potentially be a success, but you will never know unless or until you try. Of course there are challenges, but reading, understanding processes and procedures along with persistence helped me conquer challenges that have and may arouse. The biggest lessons learned for me is Patience and Proper Planning. Lottery wins happen over night but starting a business isn’t the Lottery, and even that can take time. Strictly 4 Da Streets is the platform for anyone who wants to know what new dope visuals was released daily. We are creating and building our community to give artist feedback and also tell the public who is the next artist up.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I love to eat, so throughout the week we will hit these spots. Agave, Mr. Everything, McKendricks, Juicy Krab, Big Daddy’s. As far as clubs or lounges go I’m a strip club guy so we going to hit the Blue Flame of course as well as Onyx and KOD outside of that we pull up to random spots just to see the vibes. One spot I really like though is Rendevous Atl dope vibe good food too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First I always give praise to God for giving me life and blessing me through my journey.. I’m dedicating this to my wife, mother, older brother and my two beautiful daughters (Cadence & Carrington) for all the support and motivation they gave and continue to give me, that fuels my ambition and drive. Aside from God my motto is “Family First”.
