Meet Cordarious Kitchens | Media professional and Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cordarious Kitchens and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cordarious, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
I think what makes me happy is fundamentally helping people be the best versions of themselves possible! The driving force behind what I feel is my happiness is to make people happy in healthy and positively reinforced ways that steer people into their destiny and many times out of the trauma that ultimately leads us into that greatness.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career has been very multifaceted to say the least and I chuckle as I say that because I have been everything from an Artist, A producer, A talent manager, A CEO of my own entertainment complex and because of my natural click for social empowerment and initiatives that help the community, I have also been (not literally) but more so in passing, a therapist, a life coach, a motivational speaker, A mentor, a spiritual cornerstone and an advocate for youth who have potential but are trapped in ecosystems that don’t allow such potential to flourish.
My main passion has always been the arts, I was always enamored by drama and the stage and the life that we could create just with our own imaginations. In elementary school I displayed a knack for the arts and in that I performed as the head of every play, every musical, everything that had to do with the stage or speaking on it, I was a part of. I then found that my calling was to be in front of people but through time and tailoring, that has become multifaceted in the different ways that I approach my one passion.
I can say that I got where I am today because the main people that were supposed to believe in me didn’t. Its that simple. When you are misunderstood, when you are raised by your grandmother and she is the only person that saw and believed and tried her best to curate what my talent was, you adapt and you become hungry or fierce rather with your approach to obtaining your natural state of being, for many they would call that their end goal but my end goal has always been my starting point and I just needed my surroundings to match who I already was to begin with…. When you are rejected so to say and judged by your mother and your father who never had any type of personal relationship with you and you wore for many years the shame that came with assumptions that never were true but only spoke to their lack of parenting and their lack of maturity in all the things they said and done because they didn’t want to feel like they were wrong…… in that you become (more).
It was not easy to overcome the traumas that their immaturity imprinted but by the grace of Yahawashai I was able to step into my purpose by the molding of what I felt was injustice, disrespect, favoritism towards my other siblings and rejection towards me. The lord used that as a channel for me to learn, to observe, to become present and enter into a space where those traumas actually were rewards and in this life and at this time, I bear fruit of that through the wisdom and understanding that I have gained and in that, I help my fellow brothers and sisters.
What I would love for you, the reader to know about me and this story, is that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord, the called according to his purpose. All the pain that I felt, all the broken heartedness that I experienced, all the lack and what I perceived to be missed opportunity because of the insufficiency of others was actually the plan all along. I never lacked anything and neither do you. You are complete and the trials that come have only done so to perfect your perfect work so that you may in all things be steadfast, humble, obtainable and pure in the level of greatness you possess to show the world what has always been right in front of them all along through you.
I still have days that I perceive the feelings of tiredness or lack but I know that I perceive it from a place that is above such things and in that, I know that its okay to feel it, to understand it but not become it because you already are in all things present to the acquisition of your moment in time to make history, to change the world and to release the cycle of pain and shame others feel through the instruments of your gifts…. If you take away anything from my story (which is your story to), then take away that right now, you ARE EVERYTHING and YOU are your confirmation.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m very modest but in the most luxurious since possible, ha!
I think we would have to start off by going to spice house in Buckhead which is one of my favorite restaurants in the city and I do have some preferential treatment there so we would definitely be in for a great time there.
I’m not a big driver, I like to be driven and if we can accommodate some good tints on the window, I’ll be in heaven on earth. A friend that I actually am thinking about while I write this is a connoisseur of some very fine wines and there big in the tobacco world when it comes to cigars and what not so I would take them to Datanna’s in Buckhead for a great experience.
I think Buckhead and some great centric locations in Alpharetta and Duluth would be the majority of our back and forth but I will say iFly is on the list because I love skydiving without actually feeling like I’m going to die and also I would say if nature were to come into effect, the beauty of stone mountain or going to lake Lanier to admire the beauty whilst paying homage to the history of what has taking place there would be something I feel would be great.
In the light of me working in entertainment, I relish a good time out but not in the club sense but something more like an experience or something that is culturally ambiguous that allows us to go abroad without really even having to leave our front yard so to speak, that’s something I feel we would do as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Humbly, there are so many key peolpe that I have run into in my life that have witoout the shadow of a doubt shaped my ecxperience in positive ways and even the nergative there were positive takeways to such degree that I wouldnt change anything if I could do it over twice.
A key person that is dear to my heart that has encouraged me, believed in me and saw the full scope of my potential was a woman by the name of Mrs. Pat. She was the mother figure that I never had and I feel I was the son she never had but always wanted. During the rollercoaster ride of entrepreneurship and young adulthood, she was a pivotal anchor in grounding me and helping me balance out a lot of the traumas that I dealt with from an abusive mother and broken home as I was growing up. She made me feel “seen”, she aloud me to feel safe and more importantly she actually took the time to understand my person, the spirit and my ultimate mission here.
If there was anybody I could give that spot to, it would be her. I also want to shoutout Necco family and children services located in Jonesboro GA, the director Jenell Tune and the office supervisor Dawn Kennedy were two powerful black women that gave me so much in love, in belief, in resource and in respect so I want to give a very special homage to them as well for their work and dedication to not only myself but the thousands of youth they deal with everyday.
